Death penalty for me like. For cases where there is an admission or irrefutable evidence. To make sure no one is put to death unjustly. WOuldn't make it quick either. Needs to be a deterrent. Burning at the stake would do me, ****s would think twice before doing this kind of ****.

It depends on the type of dna cest, like the victims blood found on the suspect, or semen, skin under the suspects nails, that type of thing. As i said when beyond doubt mate, scum are being convicted now for crimes 30+ years ago for this advance in technology. Its against his "human rights" to do anything bad to him but what about what he did to that poor girl. He will get a nice prison cell with a tv, ps3, xbox, food, etc whilst that girls family will live in agony for the rest of their lives. The justice system in the UK is a joke.
The frustating element of this case is that he has more rights and protection than he deserves. On the face of it he would escape a murder charge unless he admits to it or a body is found. Being charged keeps him in custody but the reason as being "in the public interest" is tenuous as he cannot be held forever. If he was released he could eventually bring a case against the authorities for wrongful arrest. As usual, the police have to produce a watertight case to succeed.
The police will have a very strong case against him. Its rare for the police to release a suspects photo and name way before they even charge him. Add to that the reports of the 2 witnesses who saw a man who fitted the description of this guy by a river with a bin bag a day after the girl went missing.
