TBH, I thought he came across really arrogant and very bitter. If Ruddy hadn't been given his call up he might have had a case but it sounds very like sour grapes to me! I would also like to announce that i'm giving up hope of being called up to the England Squad.

come on, anyone can see ruddy has been called up by default more than anything! the fact butland was rated as 'number two' tells you everything you need to know about the england 'clique'. if your face doesn't fit, you won't be considered. hopefully it will change - the inclusion of shawcross is a start.
But surely the crux of your argument is that players are only picked for who they play their club football for? so are you saying that Butland plays for a big club. this is where the argument falls down, you can't on hand say players are only picked for because they play for a certain few clubs, yet turn it around and complain about somebody being picked from a smaller club?
no. butland was part of the england clique though. when he was given the number two position it was questioned and hodgson said "we know more about jack than john". butland had NEVER played for his club at this point. players are rarely picked on merit, hence why the likes of downing and henderson get called up yet nathan dyer doesn't.

I think we'll have to accept disrespect. People can hate on us and say "we're just norwich" but they should have a look at their own ****ty clubs first. Do Chelsea fans think about the fact they are owned by a politically corrupt oligarch when they say "it's just Norwich?" do Ipswich fans think about the fact they are owned by the bigger ticket tout on the planet when they say "it's just Norwich" Of course they don't.
