I didn't realise that Ki had never played in defence before the Everton game : http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/ki-everton-381805.aspx Don't think it showed, did it? Also when you check who is posting on the Swans' Facebook page it seems we have a lot of new Korean fans : http://www.facebook.com/SwanseaCityFC Hopefully Ki is going to be a big player for us - maybe the best signing we have made for some time.
A lot of ability and upside in this player. I think he could play any position he wanted up the center of the park and become really dominant there. A better "Allen" than Allen.
I did say at the time why ki was in defense....I must give him credit though as he is the only player who has played good in every game......I like the guy he is a trier ....
I think Ki will prove to be our best signing over the course of the season. He has great control, vision and is incredibly adaptable born out by his excellent performance in central defense. All we need now is for Pablo Hernandez to perform to potential and I believe, with patience and time (and if we can sort out our defense) we will have a very good team.
yes i did because of who he replaced and i knew he was not a defender.......fair play to the guy willing to play anywhere and show some kind of commitment....that was the worst game for players not knowing what to do.
I believe all our players are great at what they do but we must start playing the way we brought them here and why they chose us in the first place and not the rubbish we have been playing recently....go back to what we do best and we can beat anyone even the top 4....lets hope we start with reading...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=107_NrJbu9E&feature=player_embedded have a look at this , he's a player who may turn out to be the key to unlock a few defences (if played further up the field than of lately)
We may see that if we can get Agustien back fit. Thing is we have a a guy in Michu who seems to be able to score from anywhere with feet and head and Graham who balloons it over the bar from the edge of the 6 yard box .... something has got to give there. Michu perhaps could play futher forward and let Ki play behind him.
Agree with all of that but Kemy seems to be injured half the time so a good Patrick Viera type defensive midfielder should be a priority in January IMO. A midfield trio of Leon, Ki and Michu might be effective against teams like Reading (let's hope so) but surely it's too lightweight for games like Stoke away?
No! he's certainly not been by me, but he does need to get his sharpness back, and up his game to compete with Ki, who to me is clearly the better player! Ki's opening games and performances, leave De Guzman wanting!.................
Awrite folks. Celtic fan here. Just popped on to see how the Swans fans were taking to young Ki. He's a marvelous player and i'm glad he has been able to make the step up in league class. I can't wait till you guys get to see the 30-40 yard screamers he can smash in to the net too, those are memorable! I've got a wee affiliation for your club, mainly due to the fact of you doing really well in the English leagues and not an English team . I love the Welsh, you're all superb and any time a Welshman has donned the Hoops he's gone on the make the club proud. Hartson, Bellamy, Ledley, Matthews. Hope to see Ki smashing in the goals for your club soon and looking forward to seeing more Swansea games! Hail Hail. Vinnie.
Cheers, Vinnie. It's safe to say that we all rate Ki down here. He's started really well for us and will only get better as he develops his understanding with the rest of the team. As Michael Laudrup signed him, the boy obviously has quality. Looking forward to seeing him at his best. Thought about wishing you well in the SPL this season but you don't need good wishes do you.
I like the sound of those 30-40 yard screamers Vinnie, we could do with a few of them right now!.....................
