I woupd expect it to be something like this Amos Rosenoir McShane Faye Dudgeon Elmo Oli Koren Quinn Simpson Aluko Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Hull City Stephen Quinn to score for us.
I'd go with... -----------------Amos Rosenoir McShane Faye Dudgeon/Dawson ----------------McKenna -------Elmo-----Koren-----Quinn ------------Simpson Aluko
No Oli? What is the big fuss about McKenna? He is crap and I aren't overly convinced we will ever see him in a City shirt again.
You can stick Oli in for Koren if you like, but we need some bite in midfield and our only option is McKenna, or sticking Quinn in the middle and moving Aluko out wide and giving Prossy another go.
Call me crazy if you like, but I think Big Steve might have a look at 4-4-2 tomorrow. I have no evidence, and not heard any suggestion, but my senses are somehow telling me this. You heard it here first...
I wouldn't say McKenna is crap, he does his job well enough, and that is to get stuck in and do the dirty business.
I'd like us to stick with the same formation. Amos Elmohamady McShane Faye Cooper Dudgeon Koren McKenna Quinn Simpson Aluko Very hard to choose the midfield. Quinn is a certainty but I agree with OLM that we could do with McKenna's defensive stability in midfield and Oli has been playing well. I might be tempted to drop Koren actually but I don't think it's likely so I've left Oli out.
It's a tough one with Oli - with the ball he's been immense, without it, he just trots along at a slow pace too much. McKenna will get stuck in and cover more ground off the ball, but at the same time, we won't see cross-field balls being pinged around like Oli has been doing lately.
If it's 442 then Aluko can play on the left, apparently he played there at Rangers & can cross the ball well, with him & Elmo on the wings there's plenty of pace.
Id go for the same as istplt but with rosenior in for Elmo, just for fresh legs and a slightly more defensive minded set up to tighten up a bit.
I'd do that and have Oli in for Koren as well. There's still goals in that team but it looks more solid to me.
I'd be happy with that. Really don't get the love affair with McKenna. He seems to be the sort of player City fans like (**** knows why), but he ain't gonna win you games. Or have any effect on them whatsoever, I'd rather have Evans in before McKenna and he's mediocre at best.
I watched Wednesday a few times last season under Megson and they were a very big physical side. Not sure how many changes Dave jones has made but I'm a bit worried with us being a team of lightweights.
Wednesday, like Peterborough, are on a very bad run at the moment. If they lose on Saturday, it will be their worst run of results in a very long time. We just need to make sure we don't let them end their run against us like Posh did
