I highly doubt Cortese personally sanctioned and wrote this letter. He doesn't do everything himself you know.
I know a business is a business, but looks like penny pinching. Could have been handled better by giving notice that it would be stopped next year.
I agree with you Gomarchingin, they should at least have been thanked. Give them a ticket for the rest of the season i say!
Stop with the paranoia over Cortese ! Petition someone then who made the decision or someone who can take action , this is a short sighted process and they have not even trialed or given another option for getting a programme , thats pretty poor in any business I can tell you .
They surely have employment rights. I know the club would say they are self-employed, but I read somewhere that you become someone's employer if the work they do is solely for you and has been for a while.
Hang on a minute PO10 selling programmes outside is a bit of a tradition for all football clubs. Fans like their traditions that is how they become fans. Totally ignoring fans and just riding roughshod over their wishes will not eventually do the club a lot of good. The trouble is there has been no announcement of what or who is taking the sellers place which is a bit surprising. Perhaps we should wait and see what the alternative is likely to be?
Don't know why this decision is being made part way into the season...as I said penny pinching. It's a long time since I've felt so cross with SFC.
It doesnt matter what the alternative is now people have lost their jobs without even a thankyou. I love Saints but this has left a bitter taste in my mouth about how people are treated.
A poll on the OS maybe, but we still don't now what the "new way" of selling it is, or any other details to make an informed comment, there is no mention of it on the useless OS web site anyway.
A quiet week , Building at the academy stops . Loan taken out in September . Programme sellers gone . Linked or not ? Only one way to find out and thats to tune in to Cortese TV next week at 2100 est........................
Sacking programme sellers is bad, but can't see it linked to a loan or stopping work on academy site (the latter two things may be linked).
