West Brom will maintain 100% home record with win over struggling QPR Ryan Forrester explains why Rangers' poor start to the season looks set to continue at the Hawthorns this weekend against a confident Baggies side. Latest odds West Brom to beat QPR 87/100 Six games into the Premier League season and the table is looking rather bleak for Mark Hughes and his QPR side, as they currently find themselves propping the table up with just two points from a possible 18 in what has been a disastrous start. Join bwin here now to place up to £20 in free bets on West Brom v QPR! Having recruited a number of players in the summer, there was a real optimism and belief around the club that they could challenge for a top-half finish this campaign given the talent the Welshman has at his disposal. Monday nightâs 2-1 defeat at home to newly-promoted West Ham was their fourth of the season so far, with Rangers producing a performance that made them look every bit like a side destined to struggle this season, as was the case last term. Next up for the Râs is a trip to the Midlands to face Steve Clarkeâs West Brom side, who have started the season in fine form, having recorded three wins, two draws and a defeat from their opening matches and currently sit sixth in the table. The Baggies have looked a strong outfit at the Hawthorns, recording maximum points so far, seeing off Liverpool, Everton and Reading without Ben Foster conceding a goal as Clarke looks to have allayed any fears that he would struggle in his first managerial role. West Brom head into the match as odds on-favourites to continue their 100% record at home at 87/100, with the draw at 5/2, while a first away win for the Râs under Hughes since he took over in January can be backed 3/1. Rather worryingly for Rangers, they have been unable to record a win away from home since seeing off Stoke 3-2 at the Britannia last November, while they kept their last clean sheet on the road against Wolves in September 2011. That doesnât bode well when you also consider that they havenât beaten the Baggies at the Hawthorns in their last five trips, losing three and drawing two for the concession of 13 goals, the last a 1-0 defeat courtesy of a Graham Dorrans strike back in April. In fact, the west London club have only secured one win against West Brom in eight games and with just four goals scored in the league and 13 conceded, that stat doesnât look like improving this weekend. Hughesâ men have conceded first in four of their six league games, going into the break losing in three of them, so backing West Brom to be winning at half-time and full-time at odds of 37/20 is worth considering against a side that has some serious defensive frailties. Rangers have, however, managed to find the net in each of their three away games so far at Norwich, Manchester City and Tottenham, so another bet which could prove fruitful is a home win of 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 in the multiple correct score market at 18/5. Given their high turnover of players, itâs understandable that it will take time for the QPR squad to gel and eventually it may click for Hughes, but given the stats and their recent performances, itâs impossible to look past anything other than a Baggies victory. Recommended bet:West Brom to beat QPR @ 87/100 Outside punt: West Brom to be winning at half-time and full-time @ 37/20 Long shot: West Brom to win 2-1, 3-1 or 4-1 @ 18/5
I'm getting the impression that there are those on here who would prefer a home win to sate their Machiavellian intentions; dream a little can't you?
I would never wish my team to lose intentionally, I base my judgement solely on the following - - We last won away November 2011 - We have never won away under Hughes - The Baggies are yet to concede at home this season - We haven't beaten them in the past 8 encounters apparantly No problem with dreaming but the reality is that an away win is unlikely
I've put this on another thread but seems to fit nicely into this one: I've put £60 on QPR to win this weekend. May sound like a wasted £60 but im away in Devon this weekend (Which I know has nothing to do with football) but my attendance down there may heklp explain the bet. The past 4 years i've gone down there QPR have won, so I've bitten the bullet and put the bet on @ 3/1. Couple that with our unexpected poor start, our piss poor away record, West Brom's stat of having yet conceeded at home, all points to a Rangers away win for my rose tinted self this weekend. All together now...... ''We're winning away, We're winning away, Your team must be ****, We're winning away!!''
Wasn't talking about you personally, just feel that the drive to rid QPR of MH in the short term at any rate is not logical and would harm our ability to survive in my opinion; I could be wrong of course. Yes, it's unlikely that we will win, but every away game I think ' here's our first away win' and I will be right......one of these days.
Having probably been recognised as one of the ´Hughes Out´ brigade I would never wish my side to lose for whatever reason. However, if ´Sparkless´ continues with his unfathomable team selections, tactics and last minute substitutions, I will want him out.
Dave its your warped logic that sets this forum apart. I'm scratching for positives for Saturday. 45 years ago we beat the Baggies 3 - 2. I waited 45 minutes for my pan fried seabass & gnocchi to arrive at lunchtime. Co-incidence?? I think not

I actually believe this could happen - sounds contradictory after my last post, but how many times does this happen to QPR??? - I´ve lost count on the number of teams who have never won at loftus road or who have yet to win and then spank us on the day......so I am gonna stick a tenner on the Rongers!!!!
I think we are going to win 3 - 1. Don't know why, but I think we'll go 2 or 3 up early on after great play from Granero, Adel, Cisse and Hoillet leave WBA struggling, after Hughes puts Park, SWP and Zamora on the Bench. We hang on after they get 1 back. Nelsen and Hill are going to be strong at the back, with M'bia brillaint at CDM.
Went to this fixture last year. We were unlucky. I think we will play better again - but I do not see us scoring against them unless Adel plays 90 mins. I think Hughes might be too stubborn.
