Yes it's Fraser Forster, the 6ft 7 keeper, formerly of Newcastle, now permanently at Celtic. I did a piece about him a while ago, remember watching him at Norwich
PNP, next time jump on the London Underground and look out for Woy, and then you can have a chat with him. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/roy-hodgson-tells-fans-rio-1358906
Shades of Christian Gross. Is that something they encourage for managers in Switzerland or something?
Lennons 'back' in the England squad...what about the rest of him?... please log in to view this image
I think and hope, Hodgson will look after Aaron Lennon better than Capello ever did. Lennon is showing more consistency this season so far, than he has done for some time, so the last thing he needs is for his confidence to take a bashing when he's with the International squad like it did last time.
Lennon simply hasn't been tried and failed for England. Much like Jermain Defoe, he's been picked sporadically, often as a substitute and has normally been taken off when he's started, only completing the full 90 minutes once. Despite that, he's only been on the losing side on one occasion. I can only assume that his stupid nickname (Azza) confuses the equally stupid Rooney (Wazza), so they've decided to avoid that clash altogether. Given Oxo-Cube's rise, Walcott's seemingly default selection and the alternative that Adam Johnson provides, I don't see Lennon getting picked very often any more, though. Not sure what the point in taking him is supposed to be, but then I wouldn't call up three left-backs, either.
Very true. 'Arry didn't help him much either when he was explaining why Lennon pulled out last minute against Madrid. I haven't checked but I'm pretty sure Lennon's played a lot more than any of the other wingers in the squad already this season. If he's just being used as a squad filler whilst Walcott and Milner continue to be chosen above him to deliver their plodding, unremarkable performances, he might as well just quit until a better manager's in charge.
giving Lennon the armband, albeit for only a game, was a good move by AVB imo. Lennon is no longer a kid who can simply rely on his speed and trickery. Hopefully, and the early signs are good, giving him the armband has hammered this home and he will continue to work on the football brain side of things
