Can you go one thread without having a dig at QPR? If you can't make a decent noise in that away end then you can't anywhere.

Putney End is easier to make noise in...few tinnies in Bishops Park, pints at the Crabtree and you can stamp your feet to make extra noise, plus it's a single tier stand with a big roof and up to 7k Chelsea in it. It is much better than the tiny Schools End split into two tiers. Ellerslie much better stand for atmos than schools: i always went there rather than Schools for Chelsea games

You must like CCottage, Watford. It is the best (and only) ground (as against stadia in Prem)

I think it depends what club it is when you say you can mix with the home fans in a pub before a game. For instance it wouldn't be a good idea for us to do so at Spurs or West Ham. Your home support is really good and one of, if not the best in the league. I don't know why though in your last two visits to Stamford Bridge you have only taken the 1600 allocation and in your most recent visit, didn't sell it out. I was a bit surprised by that. It's good to hear we are some of the best away fans to come to your ground. I can't wait to go to the Etihad this season that's for sure.

I find the School End quite tough to make a lot of noise. When one end starts chanting, the other end starts but by that time, the ones that started chanting have stopped! Also when your in the lower tier you can't hear the fans in the upper tier making it quite tricky.

It is a superb ground. Like I said earlier when City came back to win their fans really affected the result v us liek no other time last season

The last time that happened was Fenerbace away; that noise was a different level. better than Anfield 05

Craven Cottage is decent though I felt like I was miles away from the pitch near the back of it though the noise was good there in spite of the dire performance. The School End is probably the smallest away end in terms of area but you can cram 3200 in there and West Ham showed you can really get it going with the low roof it's almost custom-made to create a din.

Everton the best away ground for me in this league. It will be shame when every ground is new and uninspired like Coventry, Derby, Leicester, Southampton etc.

There was a boycott from the city supporters club on tickets over £50 so the club decided not to take up the extra allocation as agreed
Both Chelsea games last season had great atmosphere, loved the retaliation by playing the madness song at the Etihad
As for drinking in away pubs, other than Utd we tend to get on ok with everyone else, probably because everyone hates Utd and my enemies enemy and all that.

Ah OK.... it will be the same prices this time around though as well! (which are ridiculous... Arsenal charged us £62 a ticket).

Yeh that was irritating with the Madness song. How dare you?!

Agree Chelsea City at the Bridge was one of the best home atmospheres last season.
Still think you should sell out your 3k tickets in the future. You always brought a good load to us back in the day... 3-5k in the 70s/80s up there with Leeds and Newcastle

West Ham away fans are very good. In fact i've been in the Ellerslie when they had a good few in there too.

Your boys said the atmos at CC was great last season despite the score. You made a very good noise in that FA Cup game, I think it was first game at SB for 14 years and bigger allocation than normal too. Disappointing noise last season at SB despite the score. V Good noise in first half of league game (close to City), but disappointing in Cup game.

Most away games sell out but I'm not surprised people wouldn't pay fifty odd quid last season to go to Chelsea on a Monday night when it's on the box as well
Atmosphere at Real Madrid wasn't anywhere near as good as I was expecting
Great stadium though, could do with those escalators to take us up to our seats when we go to st James Pk

Agree LF but unlike United, City are proper football fans. It was Christmas Sunday week so people can't afford to shell out over £50 on a Monday Night especially in these hard economic times. That trip to SB would have cost City fans about £200. All round I know when I went to City away last year I spent easily over £100 on tickets, food, drink and travel.

City away is class though. Providing it's a weekend fixture I'm definitely going again. I can't speak highly enough of City fans.

Me neither but they have repeatedly failed to sell out their full allocation at SB.

Their home support ****s on all London clubs bar maybe Spurs during their Golden Era (2010-Jan 12).

I do see your point there LF, I much prefer away grounds where the fans are all on one tier hence why Upton Park is my favourite. It's far easier to get chants going in perfect synchronisation than when you are split into two tiers.

I too was at Arsenal on Saturday. My first time at the Emirates. Fantastic stadium and fantastic away end. I loved the songs in the pub beforehand. I've been a regular attending Chelsea matches for the last 5-6 years now (since I turned 18 and could afford tickets with a job) and its the first time I've heard Chelsea Allouetta. Great song I would love to hear in the stands.

Worst by far has to be Upton Park IMO. especially if your sitting on the lower rows in the corner. The walk up from Green Street is a horrible feeling too. Especially in winter.

Lucky you. I only have 23 points! Got my Liverpool ticket but need 29 for Spud so doubt the points will go that low. :(
