http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6900082,00.html I think in the words of Rafa Benitez, we need players with the right 'mintalitay'. Barton is a driven, competitive individual who has turned his career around... Or so they say. By that people mean the only controversy he has faced this season is punching another player (Morten gamst Pedersen). If he came to our club i would seriously struggle to support this guy. Maybe i'd turn hypocrite and be his biggest fan, and forgive him everything as soon as he started putting those crosses on Carroll's head, but as it stands i would be seriously disappointed if this foul individual became part of our great club. What do you guys think? Is he reformed? Is his talent worth it? Do we stick to our 'cheer every player in our red shirt' mentality? I have to say he is probably the only player i can think of that i wouldn't give a clean slate to if he joined.
Its Adam Barton, and he's been linked with Liverpool on a few occasions. I suppose Liverpool are signing the PNE manager because they are linked with Phil Jones.
Dear God no! Can't stand him even if he is the best English midfielder according to........ Himself??? He's not good enough, even Lucas is better than him and Tiote put together
Sky sports 'understands'. So basically they've just made it up as usual. The amount of sh*t they came up with was unbelievable on deadline day. About 10% of transfers their 'sources' predicted actually occured.
And this is why i hate most newcastle fans, because they stick their nose in and don't get the touch of irony in what he's saying. Actually i don't hate most newcastle fans, just dislike the idiotic ones on this forum. As for 'delusions of grandeur', i'd have thought that was the pot calling the kettle black from a Newcastle fan!
Look at all the clueless fans hanging on the words of the press..all together BAA,BAAA. Maybe wait and see. Personally think its easy to make up a rumour..Rooney to Madrid anyone?
I expect you probably are tracking him. But for three reasons: 1. You need a right winger, so why not at least take a look at a player that has played well on the right wing this season 2. If you're going to make a sustained challenge for the top 4 you're going to need versatile and experienced players 3. Now you have a decent scouting system in place, you want to track a range of targets for each position. I doubt Barton is your first choice target for the right wing, or any other position, but you always need to be aware that you might not get your first choice targets. In which case it's probably better to have backup options rather than be left back at square one
Swarbs, well at least we aren't living in the land of delusion, expecting Luka Modric,Mezut Ozil and Ashley Young but only to end up with an injury prone Liverpool reject and a homeless portugese.
I think it's a question of whether he can moderate his behaviour, or rather whether Kenny can. Suarez isn't exactly untainted in the discipline dept and we don't have a problem with him because he's done nothing wrong with us yet. He did have a sneaky little tug of Fabio's hair after Skrtel had given him a shove to see if he could wind him up a bit more but no biting or anything that would embarrass the club. As long as he's assaulting opposition players and not fans like El Hadji Diouf or that nutter Cantona or laying into his own teammates like Bowyer then he's not the worst inmate in the prison XI. Every team needs a hardman and we lost one in Masch. I seem to be talking myself into this but only because I think if anybody can straighten him out it's Dignity Dalglish.
Andy Carroll is no angel either.Kenny doesn't mind a little bit of exuberance and enthusiasm as long as they don't overstep the mark. But taking the piss out of a skank is not a crinimal offence. Its as harmless as when Razor used to pull down Fat Erics collar.
I wasn't expecting any of them. All I was expecting was for us to challenge for the title and do well in Europe. Oh poor deluded me
