We have a debenture with a company called the Vibrac corporation who appear to be a company based in the British Virgin Islands and they also loaned Everton money a while ago.

Borrowing money secured against future income from a tax haven?

What happened to the whole "save when the times are good" and Cortese's stance of not borrowing against the future, which he has publicly stated before.

    Quite possibly.

Same company lent money to Everton Football Club last season. It was a £14m sum on a one-year loan.

Obviously we have no idea of the size of the sum on this occasion.

Its for the new st Mary's extension... although for now, its just a conservatory tagged on the back of the Chapel End. Great spot for growing tomatoes

Not really worrying at all. The only slight concern is why the money didn't come from the Liebherr family, but I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation as to why. Not that that will stop people flapping and convincing themselves that the club will be bust in a months time.

A debenture is a long term loan, it's not really worrying I'd be amazed if a club in the league haven't taken out a debenture. If it was a short term loan I would be more worried.

In any case, did Markus not have his accounts registered in the British Virgin Islands? Or was it Cayman Islands?

I remember some Channel 4 show stated something along those lines.

Everton made an agreement with Vibrac as a replacement to their previous lender, and so they didn't actually increase their debt. In fact, Vibrac were able to offer them better terms than the previous lender.

Probably, I remember a mention of him/Cortese having ties to the area. I would be interested to see what our secured asset against the debenture is.

Yeah, maybe it's just something to do with the Ramirez deal? Bologna wanted more money up front and over the next year or two...

    We all trust Nicola.

He knows what he is doing. We shouldn't pre judge that something is wrong.

Just hope the Club explain what is going on, even if they are squeaky clean, conspiracy theorists will have a field day, being 99% wrong, but still can do an enormous amount of damage.

Especially when put with the rumours of the contractors not being paid for the training ground

No, I'm just putting 2+2 together and (more than likely) getting 5

I'm sure they know what they're doing behind the scenes and that's what matters
