Watched the film in its entiety for the first time. Pretty damned good actually with great Gerald Scarfe animation. As a 14 year old I was obsessed with the double album and could not get it off the turntable pop pickers. Fair to say the lyrics are somewhat unnerving. Anyone else rediscovered favourite music from the dim and murky past? The first music I properly owned was 1974's Wish You Were Here. A tape, yes thats right a tape. Tapes were state of the art then.
Is it a black and white film you watch at the Odeon with some bloke sat at the front playing a piano?
Music is a subjective thing and I am sorry to say I have been subjected to far too much Pink Fud over the years. Having mates who liked them and a bird who obsessed over them I've had the displeasure of listening to their entire back catalogue too many times to mention. The only up-side is that when on the session with the obsessed bird Fud would be droning away in the background and it was a sort of audio viagra and it took my mind off the job in hand, I used to bang away for ages. Not like Motorhead where I'd be up, in, grunt and out again before the chorus of The Ace of Spades. The only thing of theirs I like is Dave Gilmour's guitar work on Kate Bush's Withering Shytes.
