Our squad is threadbare, but we are not forced to play 17/18 year olds. They have stolen the positions off more experienced and older colleagues.

I agree with this. I think the manc squad are too far gone to maintain thier false position for much longer. Fergie knows he is going soon, and rather than looking to build for a sustainable future, he blew his budget on a marquee signing that he hopes will bring an instant boost to their success this season. The richest team on the planet still dependant on 38 year old players who are only a year younger than our manger. Evra and Ferdinand are well past it, Evans is a flop, no central midfield, it is all about fur coat and no knickers with the mancs, an impressive front line and nothing else. This does work with teams like Spurs, who simply bottled it agains the famous man u name in the second half, and did not offer a single thing, and just gave the ball back to the manc at every opportunity. But ourselves and the other big teams will ask more questions of their defence, and Fergie is going to have to pray for biased reffing to get anything from a match against a team that doesn't fear them.

God help them when Fergie goes, any new manager will have a total rebuild on his hands, and will not be given the time to do that. Here's to another 26 years of them being in our shadow. I wonder who will Dennis Law them this time, and send them out of the top flight?

  5. We are only being forced to play 17/18 years old by those individuals themselves because they are performing. Sterling and Suso have been selected ahead of more experienced players. Even Wisdon was selected before Flanagan who has a fair amount of first team appearances to his name. Don't let these players ages fool you <ok>

    He put it better <ok>

Fair points really. Defence is my biggest concern, midfield isnt brilliant but the defence, namely Rio and Evra are atrocious just now. Even my usual positive view on it cant help. As for the keeper, SAF is getting on my nerves with that. De Gea ffs, its not difficult.

Anyway Liverpool could easily finish above Everton but based on recent history Everton are favourites in this little battle just now. However this isnt by any means a certainty as if it were I would be saying Chelsea will be champions. They wont.

I said come back to this thread in January as the table gives a far better picture after each team has played through the congested xmas period.

None of this of course factors in the possibility of Liverpool signing a striker in January, not sure how you guys feel on that front now but I would suspect you make some sort of move in the window.

Fair enough but it's not like your depth is world beaters, in fact some are awful, Downing, Cole, Carragher, Enrique, Jones. I don't think you can say Evertons squad is anymore thin than Liverpools.

  13. I didn't say Everton's squad was thinner, but you side ours was 'more threadbare' than Evertons. I was simply responding <ok>
