Writing lists of things you think he's done wrong? Christ what a depressing lot. You'll have to get used to him being here because i don't see TF sacking him for a long time, and rightly so.
We had a string of very laudable home performances which kept us up, we were looking dead and buried with 10 to go. The solidity at the back was Hughes related, and without cisse's goals(his purchase) it probably wouldn't have happened.
Like TF, lets wait any see. Anyone who thinks he should go now needs to have a long hard look at themselves. I'll personally be reassessing after the Arsenal game, hopefully all our injuries will be sorted by then.

    Well said Grifter.

Upto and including the Arsenal game is my appraisal date too. If things haven't improved by then, I will be changing sides.

That's the next game Fernandes says he's going to as well, so he's probably of the same opinion..
After Arsenal we'll have completed 9 games, which is pretty much a quarter of the season. If fernandes isn't satisfied with the progress that has been made at that point, i wouldn't be suprised if he offered hughes a 3-6 game final window in which to sort things out.

Grifter, so its ok for you to write things he's done right! What would be the point of the board!
I think Hughes should go, just my opinion. You will look again after the arsenal game!! Even you have doubts!!!

The thread title was "positives under Hughes" bob, so i provided a positive. I haven't written a comprehensive list in which i attempt to put a positive spin on every single thing he's done at the club- which is what a lot of people seem to be trying to do with negatives.
What's the point? There are so many tenuous "negatives" people seem to have eagerly written down as they scramble around for every ounce of negativity to eke out of his tenure.
I have my doubts because we've made a poor start to the season, but i still think he'll come good. It's sensible to plan for every eventuality.
Also, it's ridiculous to suggest we stayed up because of stoke and not because of Hughes. At one stage it looked like we wouldn't even be in the position for it to come down to the final game of the season. It's only because of the run of amazing home wins that we were still in with a chance. It doesn't matter whether we finished on a loss, the final 10 games of the season were due to our own good play, not to anything stoke did.
As it happened, we put in a good performance at city, and deserved to win/draw. They only scored their 3rd when our bench found out the bolton result anyway.

Preparing to get shot down here, but my feeling is that the whole set up is much, much more professional since Hughes arrived - youth set up, refit of Harlington, Rigg and scouting etc etc. how much is attributable to him (assume he had a role in getting Rigg in, via Citeh link) can't really say.
Of course, if we are counting points and hamstring injuries only, this doesn't help.

Grifter i have suffered every away game apart from London derbies for the past 4 years. This latest away record gives me every right to write any negatives i want and also you to write positives.
Hughes is yet to show any skills in management to me up to date. We stayed up last season but who's points were more important than others ( Hughes or warnock) was helped with stokes win against Bolton.
I have seen Hughes demonstrate at two separate seminars in the past and he didn't impress me in the slightest. Very robotic, too much information and little expression! I don't rate him and at the moment he is proving me right.

That cannot be denied but surely in part that is due to Philip Beard who came in as CEO in August 2011 (?) perhaps.

None of us have any complaints apart from the actual team selection, tactics and what happens on the pitch. That said does Hughes still have the dressing room?

Bob..I am not a Hughes fan but i know now that we have a very good squad of players...

If we carry on losing, then that will be down to one man..MH

Players dont wnt to lose no-matter who they play for..you know that...

If we dont start getting results then MH has gone..and who-ever comes in willl have a decent bunch of players to mould...?

I agree with your ideas Bob,, but for the purpose of this thread..our views are divided !!

Fair enough! My only complaints are with people scraping the bottom of the barrel to find fault in everything Hughes has done. I'm sure i've seen some criticise him for the number of hamstring injuries we've got. Absurd!

Who knows Grif, maybe his training methods contribute to this but i agree its hard to speculate on the unknown.

I think we all agree that Hughes has made some repeated poor decisions regarding Park / Taraabt and Hoillett and formations seem contradictory but we cannot lay all of the blame at his door.

My gripe is that he doesn't appear to be translating his aspirations with the squad into actual results. Surely no away wins under his reign is a terrible reflection on the manager?

26% is higher than 43% and bugger me so is 30%. I feel like we are all working for Boss Hogg from The Dukes of Hazard

Maybe its me? I work with figures day in / day out financing construction schemes but 26 is greater than 43 as 30 is like an 'O' level maths question frem hell..
