I'm not happy with these players going out on loan for all reasons I have in the past stated regarding Essam and Evans.

However, as long has MA keeps producing the goods i.e. points on table. I have to accept that as a mere supporter I know nothing!

no point in them rotting on the bench tho is there brb. they arent going to improve unless they play regular football. yes it would be nice to loan them to another league 2 club but its not going to happen for youngesters like this. personally i think half the reason the likes of essam came on as much as he did last year was from playing regular football out on loan, thats just my opinion tho

It seems to me that to a large extent he's relying on those of last seasons regular first team players that were retained or are on ongoing contract, plus others that he's brought in. No doubt he sees the fringe players and reserve players train and assesses their abilities accordingly, but given the experience that Essam in particular gained from playing regularly for the first team in the run in at the end of last season I am surprised that he's not willing to give some of the younger players a chance.

With the yellow and red cards beginning to mount up their chance might come sooner rather than later.

Also I presume that all of these loan deals will have a call back clause, just in case a crisis arises, so on that basis it probably is better for them to get regular first team experience, even if at a lower level as that will still be a better test than playing in the reserves.

I am not sure that the loan deal spell the end of Essam's first team chances. As we know Allen is a bit of a stickler for fitness, and without a reserve team there is no way for players to get match fit. So arguably by sending players out on loan, he is keeping them more ready for first team inclusion than if they remained at the club.

I think it is no more than obvious that Essam has slipped down the rankings behind Barrett, Davies and Flanagan, but give the form we are in and the performances given by those three I find it hard to conjure up a reason for Essam to warrant a starting place.
