we got a point away to the league leaders - knowing our lot, that will be a new 5 year contract for PJ
Another step in our recovery (as I predicted). Fine result - oh ye of little faith! How can you still be moaning? Onwards and upwards, well done Mr Jewell, proving his point against the people too short sighted to recognise he just needed time
that is a very negative take on tonight Lancs. yes, its not pleasing to see but we matched the table toppers at their home today, if we can get some thing from the Cardiff game then i will start looking a little more positive again. Im looking at the Derby game as the next game we really must win though obviously i would like it to come ASAP. I think Hull can be beaten at the KC. Still on the Jewell out side of the fence i just don't think tonight should be seen negatively, Jewell can't do any thing about other results in the table. Shouldn't be down where we are but overall I'm happy with tonight.
jewell out, tonights point changes nothing. Yes on paper a good point but Brighton were not good tonight listening to the game on 5 Live Sports Extra, it was clear they were there for the taking, again we missed around 3 other very good chances, once the hour mark arrived, managers began to change things, you knew it was just a matter of time before Brighton scored, it was just lucky for us it was late on in the game, not much time for a winner...
Well said Mike - great to see a positive post. So many on here seem unhappy we got a point. (and were proved WRONG!!!)
Troll, thing is we are not swayed by one ok result, Barnsley got turned over at home tonight by the only side below us, sort of puts our result on Saturday in to perspective...
Unhappy we got a poiint because it means that this clueless **** hangs on to his job for another week! You are either a Budgie WUM or a ****ing idiot or both!
No Brighton wernt at there best, BUT we were also defensively more comfortable, you can never be sure whether the way we were set up/playing was causing them problems judging by radio alone but for example to my ears N'Daw was playing very well in the middle, Murphy was giving them something to think about up front. Could maybe should have won, but the result itself cant be seen as negative and was overall a fair point.
Mr Hoppers - feel sorry for you. I know you would have liked us to have got hammered but here, whatever anyone else thinks, is a true supporter who appreciates a good result. However, you should be congratulated on your perpetual ability to find a cloud in every silver lining.
Fine and eloquent post from someone who can't think of any reasoned or educated argument. Judging by your posts and the fact that you want us to lose all of the time, I would suggest that you might be the closet budgie - not me.
We are not judging Jewell game by game but on the last 20 months! 20 months where we have gone backwards and for you to suddenly come on here and start spouting all this pro Jewell bullshit makes me believe that you are a budgie ****er! We are in no mood for deluded twats like you on here so I suggest you jog on!
"Town certainly deserved the point which they would have welcomed before the match and were by no means hanging on at the end as they had been at Barnsley. The Blues were worth their lead at the break and might have added a second soon after half-time through Murphy, but overall the home side were on top for most of the second period and defeat would have been harsh on Gus Poyet's men. A second draw in two away games is by no means a bad result – particularly against the division’s leaders – however with the Blues now eight games without a win and still in 23rd place it’s unlikely to greatly add to the security of Paul Jewell’s position." Pretty much sums up my feelings on tonights' result. From TWTD.
Aaawww bless. You want me to go because I have something to positive to say? Should I just leave you to moan along merrily with your mates? Sorry but no. Was your last attendance at Portman Road when John Wark played? Assume you don't go now - no doubt 'in protest' but in reality because you are not a fan of the Town. For the record, I am. By the way, when you say "we are in no mood" does this mean you speak for everyone on this forum? A little arrogant me thinks.
OK fair enough you can spout your pro Jewell bollocks on here and you must be delighted that we are second from bottom and have only won one game so far this season. Even Peterboro have won more games than us! You might be happy with a team that is heading for League 1 and the continual dross served up by this clueless tosser but all true Town fans definately aren't.
He certainly speaks for me. I thought these forums were supposed to be monitered. However, as you've (Norwich) had such a bad start to the season, maybe you've thought "we're going to get relegated, we've never won anything, I'll become an Ipswich supporter" - at least we might win something in my lifetime
If these forums were monitored then I am sure that the names I am being called would result in someone else getting banned. Read any of my posts and show me where I have sworn at anyone or called them names. Banned for beiong positive? Really? Having a different view to yours doesn't make me a WUM or a budgie. As I have said before, budgies would not attend our matches - they would not know about Ipswich or the area - feel free to ask away and I will prove my point. Proud to be a Town fan and not at all concerned about people that try to bully and insult others on here.
To justipswichtown I admire your positivity, but are you REALLY that happy with all things at ITFC? Surely the current plight concerns you?
For me this result was a disaster, it does not help our current plight at all and the Posh are catching us up, at the same time it has probably given Jewell a stay of execution!
TownCrier - Please see my post on the other thread. Nope, I hate the way that our club has been torn apart and had the heart ripped out of it over recent years. I think our league position is a disgrace and I don't think that the board or owner have sufficient interest or knowledge to support the manager. Is Paul Jewell the right guy? Yes, because he is in place and my finger of blame would be pointed further up the chain. I don't think that changing the manager now, given the weakness of our squad and lack of ambition from the owners, would see any quick turnaround. So, I stay positive and stick by the manager.
