After attending the game last night vs West Ham all I could notice was that Park was clueless when it came to communicating with the team. There seemed to be absolutely zero leadership traits in him. I thought the idea of a captain was to bark orders at those underperforming and try to organise the team? Which asks the question is Park captain purely for commercial purposes? I know Barton last season was hot headed, and I totally agree that he is not the image QPR want to be associated with, but at least he had some leadership abilities unlike Park? I don't believe he has the balls to be club captain!! I would like to know the general opinion?

I agree. Park is a terrible choice as captain and, as has been pointed out by others, wouldn't be at all surprised if his appointment had something to do with TF's desire to crack the Asian market. If this is the case... well, it's backfired.

Who else should be captain? Taarabt? Nelsen? Ferdinand?

I think if I was to start a poll on whether Park should be captain or not it would be about 90% against
I am sure the Asian tour was the main reason for this

Totally agree. Park was hopeless as an on pitch chief.
WHU had Nolan who was a proper captain.

    Answer: NO.

Captain's not an honoury status. It's a functional leadership job. Unless injuries prevent it happening, that job should be done by a fit, willing, able and vocal player. Currently Nelsen. Vice captain: Granero.

Nelsen was captain for me before the season if he plays enough.

The newly vocal Faurlin would be my second choice.

The choice of Park as captain sums up our season...

Agree. Park shouldn't be on the playing, and no way is he a captain. Hill or Adel for me.

As I've written elsewhere Adel should never have been replaced as captain and we are still paying the price of that mistake. If Hughes had any sense he'd drop Park for a couple of games and start Taarabt and Diakite with Adel wearing the armband.

I'm probably deeply delusional but I believe Adel put in that position would put in some amazing performances and drag us up the table virtually single handed. Adel's message on his vest last night makes me think all is not well somehow somehere, he's never seemed mega religious like Demba Ba who even appears to have that callous thing (zabiba) on his forehead from loads of praying.

I thought this was summed up when called over to the ref who was lecturing one of our players, not one word was said by park to ref or player

Why don't we just do like Spurs? They made Dawson club captain before the season. Then tried to flog him off, only played a couple of minutes as a late sub against United all season. If they can have their captain on the bench then so should we. Nelsen to wear the armband for me.

Agree we should try to flog Park off.

Park as captain was never going to work, he's not vocal enough. Nelsen or Faurlin for me. Park is a good player in the right position and right games, but not in a battle against West Ham who we should be beating, especially at home.

No. Said that from day one. It's a commercial decision. If for footballing reasons alone, he would never get close to that armband.
