Capt - why don't you run your motor through "We buy any car" - that would give you a guide on the trade in price. I sold my car recently and got approximately 50% more than the "We buy any car" quote by selling it privately.

If the car's running OK and you're certain you've got another year or two left, fix the clutch. But if the car's falling apart around you, then it's probably not worth it.

A one-time cost of 450 is cheaper than a new car payment ...

Thanks for the advice, DR and Fred. I think we're looking at a new car. It sounds like the old one wouldn't be worth the cost of the repairs. I've put over 100,000 on the clock, so I feel I've had my money's worth. I suspect that it's got to the stage where if it's not the clutch it'll be something else before long.

I hate to say it, but I've been watching QPR tonight and I actually feel bad for BZ. I guess QPR gave a pretty good showing against Chelsea, but they're dreadful tonight - I think the US Ryder cup team could beat them. BZ deserves better. AJ, too.

Yes, I've been watching it too. I did wonder what BZ will be thinking looking at the league table tomorrow morning.

Watched also and to be honest I thought BZ was pretty poor. No doubt Sparky will have a go at the ref (Mark Clattenburg, who we have on Saturday by the by) and injuries but the glaringly obvious is that his summer puchases were scatterbrained - I mean, how could he not have bolstered that defence ?

Just going back to the ref, well West Ham really - is that a record number of bookings in a game (I think it was 8) ?

EDIT: Sure as eggs and all that, it wasn't Diakite's fault. It might help if he could learn to tackle (6 yellows and 2 reds since he joined during last season!) -

He's probably thinking about the extra 10k a week he is earning at QPR.

Isn't there a saying the grass is always greener? I guess the grass at the cottage looks pretty green now... And Zamora's own lawn is looking all dried out and covered in dog ****...

I don't feel sorry for him.. He moved for more money and he has it!

I bet when Hughes plays FM he goes on manager holiday outside of the transfer window. He is not a manager, he isn't even a coach, he is a scout! He hasn't tried to bring in a new system or build toward something- he's just gone out and bought players without thought for how they will gel.

Absolute twat- can't wait for him to come back and get whooped again.

Absolutely, silk although I'm not at all sure he's even a scout. I believe he still lives in 'player' mode, expecting others to do or think as he did when he was a player.

Interesting thread this - from Capt's old banger to one from Shepherd's Bush!!

Sadly I don't think Sparky will be bringing his collection of ageing misfits to the Cottage - they will be under the wise old eyes of Harry by then.

QPRs next 3 games - WBA away, Everton at home, Arsenal away - can you see them getting any points from that??

Yes, it's hard to see them getting point against Arsenal or Everton. WBA is another matter - are they really that good? I can't see them sustaining their current form.

I think one has to lay the blame at the feet of Hughes. Basically, he was able to go out this summer and buy just about anyone who was willing to go to QPR, but, aside from Junior Hoillet, none of them are any good. The midfield's a disaster.

Like you guys, I also saw the match last night and was going to post here. However, BZ's comments in the Standard make me a little less likely to look kindly upon him.

I too watched the West Ham game, and for the first half, WH looked very very good. Good goal from Adel got them back in the game but Diakite's sending off killed it for them and WH should have added to their advantage (Can't Control's awful awful miss, Vaz Te hitting the bar). They really do look like a team in dire straights. They are losing when playing badly (WH) and losing when playing well (Tottenham, Chelsea, Reading) They look like a team that has forgotten how to win. Hughes also blaming injuries for his side's lack of form is absolutely rich. He had a blank chequebook this summer and signed NINE new players. Jol rarely mentions the fact that we have around seven players on the injury list, and he is right not to, it is a manager's job to utilize his squad and draft in replacements.

Zamora'a outburst yesterday made me lose what little respect I had for him, and his comments epitomize the club he is at. The comments were obviously made in an attempt both to deflect attention from QPR's relegation form but also to unsettle their 'little' neighbors. I would have thought the prospect of playing Championship football next season would be a more worthy topic for Zamora to consider, rather than claiming the FFC team don't like Jol.

Last point, do you all remember when QPR signed Park and they thought it was the deal of the decade? Now all their fans want him to be dropped. Fergie, as irritating as he is, does not miss a trick when deciding if his players have what it takes to perform at PL level.

Joke club. Joke players. Joke support (couldn't fill their allocation at a London derby) Joke manager. Joke Chairman.

Another article, which puts forward some well placed arguments about the credibility of Hughes. I'm posting it alongside the previous one on Mittal though, because of the questions it raises about Fernandes.

On a point about finance it may be worth noting that shares in AirAsia, which he is also 'flagshipping' dropped 20% in the last period.
