Indeed.....its certainly not a given, but there have been some great ideas and formations that can work in different situations on this thread. Bemuses me why Hughes sticks to the old fashioned 4-4-2 that is getting us hammered.
Nope. I'd have the extra holding midfielder away from home in a 4-2-3-1 and play 4-3-3 at home with one holding midfielder to be more attacking. Anyway, we all are on similar wavelengths. Problem is...........Hughes ain't!!
Does everyone really like Fabio as left back? Didn't we all not like him a few agmes ago? An in form Traore seems to get up & down the line fine and has a lovely left footed early cross - Faurlin played the same balls into space there last night but Clint was sadly not up to the job. Didn't Bosingwa play left back for part of the Chelsea game and look OK. How about Dyer down the right and either of the two above down the left. There is nothing that slows play down more than knowing the player is going to cut back inside onto his best foot.
Im happy with Bos, Fabio, Traore or Dyer at FB, I ****ing not happy at SWP on the right and Park on the left as we are awful like that. Play park on the right and an attacking threat on the left. Its so simple and staring Hughes right in the face. If we play 5 in midfield, we can afford Taarabt and Hoilett on either side.
