No excuses - we were crap last night - but our poor performance has overshadowed the cynicism of West Ham's approach which had Allardyce's crude view of the beautiful game written all over it. The fact that Jaaskelainen was wasting time at every goal kick from 3 minutes into the game was bad enough but it even got to the stage with 10 minutes to go where the Hammers were deliberately picking out their only two outfield players not to have been booked to take free kicks so that they could delay as much as possible without risking a sending off. This level of cynical spoiling tactics must surely be the subject of review by the football authorities. If not there is every possibility that Fat Sam will build the next Crazy Gang but in the East End rather than Wimbledon.

Thanks Aaaagh, saved me from having to do this. The cynicism was, to be honest, shocking - the Vaz Te 'injury' fiasco and several others spring to mind. But the real shame was them launching the ball high and long and every opportunity - even before Carroll ( who not only looks like a girl but runs like one too) came on. We have a second Stoke in our league, 2 teams playing this kind of football with good players in their teams. Just depressing.

You should try watching Pulis ball - depressing as! Big Sam isnt a patch on what TP has done to the reputation of Stoke - I'd take Sam over oue "Welsh Jose" anytime, but I understand what you are saying.

Yeah, it was horrible but West Ham looked like they wanted it so much more than us. Me, I'd take an ugly, ugly win right now, though!

They were worse than Stoke, no wonder they only wanted half the away end. I couldnt stand watching that week in week out.

I have to agree with Smithers, I don't think anyone is worse than Pulis when it comes to approach and gamesmanship.

Name 1 side that has never wasted time to close down an important victory, we were on the other end of it against Sunderland a week ago...
Pretty funny QPR fans complaining about other teams playing dirty....
Thanks for the 3 points, we're 1/4 of the way to safety <cheers>

You played well yesterday but to be fair QPR have had a tough run of games. You've not played any of last years top 8, that said I fancy you to do Arsenal if Carroll is playing

Won't accept tough run of games, (Swansea, Norwich, West Ham, no disrespect meant) we should be competing, beating SOME clubs. I would now be happy to win ugly, but the question the WHU manager is spoiling the Premiership.

I agree, but imo victorys against Relegation rivals are more important than shock wins against the top sides.
Our next 10 games have 9 of last years top 10, so we will see where we will be in the premier league food chain soon enough.

I know, this league of overpaid players where you need to spend the most to avheive something is something we should all be protecting...

You'll do well this season IMO. If Jarvis, Carroll and Nolan ever click, teams are going to be in trouble at Upton Park

He is, hence the appalling number of travelling fans, the lowest Ive ever seen for a london derby. Even their own fans cant stand watching the team play.
WHU also set a record for the most yellows in a game too.

Yes, it must be a bit of a paradox for the WHU fans used to the nice football they were accustomed to.
You have to admire Big Sam as they out-fought us last night and he got his tactics spot on. But to be honest I wouldn't be too comfortable with 8 QPR players getting booked in one game and cynical behaviour like that.
I think they will stay up no problem though.

No one was talking about playing dirty (although the rate of elbows at face level is another one of Fat Sam's trademarks) but if you think that having 8 of the team in the book at the end of the game is just 'closing down' then we really are heading for a dark place.

First half last night was about the worst PL football I seen in ages. It takes two to do that, Sam and Mark were on top form.

Apparently 8 yellows is a record. Something to be proud of eh?
