So the top 5 will be: Senna, Prost, Schumacher, Fangio, Clark. Think we've figured this out since a few weeks ago but oh well, saying it again.
I thought Moss would be top 5 but I think we've known the top 8 since Vettel was announced. What matters now is the order...
I still think it is fundementally flawed to compare active drivers who have not yet fullfiled all their achievments yet, with drivers who have or have had longer careers to date.
I agree and I can't help thinking that, as if to prove your point, that this list is already out of date. I presume that opinions were canvassed last year for this list and that Alonso's, Hamilton's and Vettel's positions would not be the same if those same experts were consulted today.
Here's the original rationale behind it. I'm not sure they qualify as "experts" nor how many were canvassed. Maybe it was Benson, Benson in hat, Benson in a dress, Benson in a onesie and Benson with a megaphone.
Oh dear, that also raises the spectre of Benson in a thong, Flabio-style. But now that the nausea has subsided, hmm, it doesn't look as if many people's opinions were sought after all. Still, it's a cheap way to get attention and people talking, I suppose.
