CHARLTON v WATFORD Watford ended their bad run away at Huddersfield and now travel across London to another newly promoted team, Charlton. Charlton are finding it tough in the early stages of the Championship but have recently signed Hulse on loan. Watford have a few injuries or players not fit yet. However, top scorer Vydra could return at the valley. Watford have won two and lost two on the road, scoring 8 and letting in 11 in the process. Whereas Charlton have won one, drawn two and lost one at home, scoring 3 and letting in 3 in the process. In fact, Watford completed the double over Charlton when they were last in the Championship together in 2008-09, courtesy of a 3-2 victory at The Valley thanks to a winner from Tamas Priskin with seven minutes remaining. MANAGER'S QUOTES:Zola on Watford's last victory - "We didn't give up and no-one can say we didn't deserve to win." Powell commented that "I felt the performance warranted three points," after their home draw to Blackburn.I am away for the next game so if someone could do the match thread, then great !! ENJOY THE GAME !! I predict a 1-3 win !! COYH !!
thanks for the thread Mex, that's fab! i'll be there, i can't wait to get there, there's something special about Charlton away..especially if we win, which we will...1-3
Nice thread Mex - 5*'s from me. I love Charlton away on a Saturday, but not for a night game, so giving it a miss tonight. Going for a continuation from Saturday and a 1-2 win for Watford! COYH
Nice thread Mex, this should be a good game, im just gutted that dad is on lates so i wont be there. Although it is very tempting to go on my own and make the most of it. even if the journey looks a nightmare. I think the game will be very tight as a Derby (kinda) should be. I will guess at a one goal win for the 'orns.
It will be very interesting to see what team GFZ puts out tonight. I cannot see much change at the back, but not sure what players he will use in the middle of the park and up front. Somehow this seems less demanding than an away trip to Huddersfield, so that worries me.
It's incredibly easy - Met line to Finchley Road, Jubilee to North Greenwich, 25 minute walk. Oystercard job.
Thanks Harrow, it sounds a lot easier than i looks. I assume that is from Watford Junction? I might look into that more. It is so tempting!!!
ok then. I think i will be ok. Dad just worries. I will just convince him. I want to go to my first away match alone!!
Addick in peace. We are pretty light up front, and not scoring many from midfield so I can see a Watford victory tonight. I hope we don't pick up any more injuries
Well.... based on the w/e ... and if we build on that game..... we can hope to get at least a point.... It will be telling I guess if we lose it.... we surely should get at least one goal.
Jon Marks‏@jonmarks72 Am pleased to confirm that former #watfordfc midfielder Andy Hessenthaler will be alongside me in the commentary box at The Valley tonight.
Or you could do the Met Line to Finchley Rd, Jubilee to London Bridge and then South East trains to Charlton. Much less of a walk at the end.
