having real problems trying to understand what Gomarchingin is trying to say, so I tried reading aloud with a strong Cornish accent, so now I can understand when he types something like - Did not Cortese state we not be relegated under him ? . He not only drops letters- but whole words as well
If a player tweeted after being given straight notice that he was on a 2 month trial with regard to his future I feel that he would be treading on very thin ice and could easily fall through and drown.
Adkins has replaced half the team. If the club captain and team captain both get dropped I think the players realize they have to perform. It's not for lack of effort that the defense is bad. They've made some mistakes that they can try to work on, but for the most part they just don't appear to be good enough. And no one has harped on that fact more than you. You wanted them all replaced in the summer. So you're not giving them a chance to "prove themselves" any more than you are asking "questions." If you are Nigel Adkins or Cortese and you think Fonte isn't good enough, buy a replacement in the next window and be done with it.
Did not Cortese state we not be relegated under him ? Your words Did not Cortese state we would not be relegated under him ? this you can understand. If you keep on banging on about the same **** every day, please check your words or you will attract abuse
I think I was sarcastic point though trouble words here humour missed grammar yes.................................
Cortese's statement about Saints not being relegated under him is the one daft statement that he has made (as far as I know)...no one can promise that.
Champions League football ? Did he say that as well ? That ain't going to happen unless we unearth 50% talent from academy who are good enough to propel us into the top four , also we will need to invest on the other 50% and how much would that cost ? After the last transfer window I am very doubtful huge amounts of £30/40 millions per player will ever be spent (nothing wrong with that) so consistent champions league football is pie in the sky .
Gomarching. It's called ambition and wanting to be the best. If we continue to invest the sort of sums that we did in the last window and bring through youngsters like Bale, Walcott and Oxlade then who know's what we can do. If you don't strive to continually improve you will stagnate and eventfully die! We should be grateful we have such a forward thinking ambitions Chairman and manager!
I'm sure by now its obvious to every one in the world that as a defensive unit southampton football club are no where near good enough at this level, this failing was obvious before the season started but i appreciate that NA had to show faith in certain players that got us to the promised land. We are now in a position where we have to make do with what we got. So far everything NA has tried to do to reduce the amount of goals conceded has failed i'm certain he must have a plan F and hopefully that will work. I have faith in NA i just question some of his decisions like playing richardson who is no where near good enough and moving Clyne to LB he's a kid in his first season in the prem and we play him out of position in a team thats shipping in goals. I hope plan F moves clyne back on the right and richardson back on the bench. Here's hoping we score 4 on sunday cause its the only way we can win in this league.
Indeed not, but it's not daft. If the Chairman of Manchester Utd said the same, you would laugh that he'd even bother to mention it, even though that club is not immune from a little relegation now and then. It's all about intentions and ambitions. As far as possible, Cortese intends that SFC will never be relegated under his watch, simply because the ambition of the club is never to be at that end of the table. Ambitions and intentions take time to bear fruit, especially when it is being done in a sustainable way. That's something certain posters [not You] seem to either forgotten or never realised in the first place, given the fast lane this club has been driving in since 2009-10.
