Forget added time, we pay enough to watch 90 mins of play yet on average the ball is only in play for 55-60 mins. I don`t like American sport but believe that for the customer/supporter (us) they provide the best value for money with their time keeping and also make sure that each team has the alloted amount of time to play the game.
If we tried that over here, matches would last 8 days, especially if Eden Hazard was playing. The number of clock stoppages to deal with his falling over would be insane
I watched the Detroit Lions vs Minnesota Vikings NFL game yesterday. It took (on average) 40 minutes to do a 15 minute quarter. I do like American Sport, but it does sometimes take the piss.
Old purple nose complaining about a lack of injury time is like Hitler complaining that he never meant to hurt anybody.
What was ridiculous about the added time, 4 minutes was about right, although the ref actually played 5? What did you expect, another 30 minutes? None of the pens were nailed on. The only one I think was, was the first half tug by Verts and they get ignored in every match. Nani didn't help himself by going down so easily. Foy cost us CL football last year with the worst display I have ever seen (in a Spurs match) versus Stoke, this time he was pretty good (I know, I would say that wouldn't I).
