I read in the paper this morning and on teletext(yes it still works) that Terry Skiverton has applied to be the new manager.Any thoughts Wycombe fans? I say not a hope,Yeovil were close to being relegated until Gary Johnson took over again at Yeovil which kept them in League 1

hmm, interesting one. Being in the south west, I know a Yeovil fan who was a big supporter of Skiverton and didnt want Johnson back. Other than the fact Skiverton has played for Wycombe and has a brief (not very successful) time managing Yeovil, for me he falls into the same category of Keith Scott, Steve Brown et al.

Im still not convinced that going for an ex-player with limited managing/coaching experience is the way forward. While I dont want to see us waste good money on a show pony (Ince!), I do think we need someone with experience - not only management experience but someone who has contacts/links with other clubs in order to attract a couple of decent loan signings. Regardless of whoever the next manager is, they are not going to have any money to spend in Jan - we need someone to bring a couple of decent players in. Someone with links and experience stands a better chance.

Well, if he thinks we can't progress I suppose he is mopping up the 6/1 on offer for us to be relegated

Another one to put in the hat- what about Paul Buckle? I might be wrong but didn't he take over at Torquay when they had financial and ownership problems and relegated to the conference and got them back into the league after two seasons. He is most probably use to running a very tight budget and has experience in looking for players who can play at this level.

Buckle would be very unlikely as he is managing Luton in the conference and is on a 2 year deal that started in the summer.

Thanks Finchy I had wondered where he went after he lost his job with Bristol rovers!

Given the financial situation of the club I think then our best bet if the next few weeks work out will be to give it Gaz!
