As for my opinion he can **** right off permanently, the board shouldn't be about him and has been for the last few months.

Ban him, ban his IP and even the range of IPs, ban any proxies, ban Tor and ban the unique machine ID of every computer he tries to log in on.

 

You can get around that

 

No one tried to get him banned he hung himself.

For what it's worth I hope he is allowed back

 

Sure, just go to an internet cafe or use the right Linux live CD and phone hotspot/dongle. However who needs all that?

Thought about this a bit more since my earlier post.

The purpose of our allowing an open debate on our decision to ban a serial offender for an extended period, was to make sure we were onside with the majority on here.

Well the majority clearly haven't responded to date. That in itself suggests that they're not bothered what happens to Swords. The majority of those that have responded to the poll have indicted a ban of some sort is in order (albeit the question of an interim 4 weeker has not been included).

This tells us to carry on with the action we've taken.

However, I'm aware this poll hasn't been made sticky (don't want to overshadow responses to tonight's game) and many won't have seen it. So I'll sticky it tomorrow to give anyone else a chance to register their views one way or the other. Never expected a consensus tbh but simply an indication of the numbers comprising the opposing forces at play in arriving at the conclusions we mods have to come to as part of our role.

End of the day though, it's incumbent on Swords in this case, to toe the agreed line and to keep the mods at bay. If he did that, we'd all be happy.

However, if his actions are a veiled wind up of us mods (two fingers as I think Uber suggests on the verdict thread), we'll simply up the ante until either he gets fed up or the visible majority on here tell us otherwise. Up to Swords really.

 

I don't think I was suggesting that Swords' actions are a veiled wind up of you Mods in particular, Brix. I think he just tends to dangle the bait in the water and see if he gets any bites. Then, depending on the voracity of the bite and the weight of the fish, he'll either reel you in or cut the line. Either way, you end up with a hook through your lip. Or something. I've haddock 'nuff of the fishing metaphors.

 

Cod knows I've had enough of the red herrings. Sword(fish) has been having a whale of a time. Any more and he's definitely had his chips. Pick the bones out of that lot. Personally can't wait till the kipper season!!

 

It's embarrassing the amount of energy and time that is dedicated to one poster of this board. I've cringed a few times reading this melodramatic bovine excrement.

Some people have way too much time on their hands and seem to live their life through this board and are obsessed with its content and the other people that post here.That's where the problem really lies, its ridiculous how everything is blown out of all proportion.

It's a football message boars for Christ's sake.

Yes it's just a football board, with all kind of people on here, with no doubt views ranging far far right to far far left. So we must expect the whole range of different agendas lying behind what is posted on here. While the rules are kept, we have to accept that. I think some are taking it far too seriously, lighten up! If someone has a problem with what Swords says send it back or ignore it, but there is no need to be upset or call for him to be banned while he keeps to the rules laid out on here under Brixton's signature, which as far as I have seen he has.

 

As always, you seem to have picked out the crux of both sides.

Ultimately if you and Nuts choose to assume control of the situation again and reconsider either way or just stick with your original assessment then you'll not get much complaint I reckon.

Personally, I've made my thoughts fairly clear and won't be voting against your original punishment bearing in mind you probably already factored in most things said today plus the mod crap that the rest of us are blissfully ignorant of.

Good evening lady and gents. Can't wait for tonight’s game. Just bought a nice bottle of plonk, am drugging the kids with Dozal and going to hit the couch soon with Mrs NUTS to watch the match. Wish I was there, but will keep my singing voice ready for another few weeks until I get over for the saints game.
This whole SWORDS debacle is really starting to pi** me off. I am a big believer in free speech. I applaud, commend and totally encourage it. I would not have joined this forum if I thought I would be unable to express my thoughts in an open manner with fellow QPR fans. That’s what this forum is essentially all about. QPR people talking about all things football and some occasional weird stuff to lighten the atmosphere. Bring it on.
On my very first post here, I was welcomed by Brix and Northy (2 MODS) and quickly pointed in the direction of the Rules and Regulations of this forum. To me this was very clear from day one, talk all the sh**e I want but respect others. I love heated debate. I encourage argument. I like hearing the enormous spectrum of footballing theories on this forum. I like seeing a good solid argument unfold and enjoy getting stuck into it. This is what keeps our forum alive and vibrant. Diversity is the key. Diversity of thought, diversity of opinions and diversity of personalities. Long may that continue.
SWORDS does make the occasional good post. He is witty and quick with a punch line. We all know and like people like that. He has however another side to his person. A side that consistently and deliberately seeks the vulnerable on here and then plays on their weakness when he finds it. Some of you may find this amusing. I do not. I am not breaking the confidentiality of current and ex members of this site by saying that several people on here have had enough of him. We have lost a few very very good posters specifically because of him. Other members are now using this board less and less and while not all of this is because of SWORDS, a sizeable proportion is. He is a cyber bully. Some of you find him harmless and funny while other take serious offence to his homophobic, religious or cultural comments. SWORDS knows right well that he has crossed the line. How....... because he has admitted it. He has admitted that he deliberately provokes other members seeking a reaction. He gets his own personal amusement from this. I ask you now, is this funny? Should this be tolerated?
There are very simple rules to this forum. Either we do away with them (fine, no need for MODS) or we learn to accept them. This site is not a plaything for any one individual. Live by the sword, die by the sword.
The sad part of all this for me was during SWORDS last probation, he actually behaved very well. He showed that he can actually talk football and respect other opinions. But, he can't help himself.
I can accept his Wumming. I can accept good threads becoming his personal battleground with whoever is unfortunate or silly enough to respond to his jibes but I can’t and won’t accept his personal and cutting comments against others. If his behaviour is going to be accepted as the norm on this board then I want NO part of it. I have enough sh**e in my own life without coming onto this board to deal with more. His behaviour continues to be unacceptable. He has admitted it. He continues to break the rules. A precedent needs to be set. He should have got a permanent ban. Hopefully one month will teach him to respect others.

 

Just received this as a PM from a poster who'd prefer to remain anonymous. Copied the original to NUTS to waylay any suggestion I made it up - but it sure reflects a good few similar PMs received of late.

As a relatively new poster I want to make a few observations but would rather do it in private.

Firstly I think when it comes to swords the level frequency and style of postings suggestions that the board doesn't really do swords much good. He's on here constantly and you have to wondered about someone who is on here far too much.

With regards to his response to your ban on him "no hard feelings". This seems to be his stock response to anything. I sent him PMs because he was out of order to me he said sorry overstepped mark, no hard feelings. There's a point in which sorrys and no hard feelings wear a bit thin.

The boards are constantly ruined by him. I've recently gone into hibernation as was sick of constant chaos were all roads lead to Rome. Ie swords.
The constant sweeping statements he makes against reasonably sensible posts is tiresome.

This is a bloke hijacking boards who doesn't even spend his hard earned going to loftus rd. I appreciate that in some ways this is part of the board and serves purpose to overseas fans but for this type of fan to monopolise the board is in my opinion disproportional.

On the plus side the bloke does sometimes keep the board fresh and vibrant but I think that those occasions are becoming fewer and farther between.

From a board management point of view i think you should go as you've said. Any movement from this position can make your position as mods lessened and weakened and it is a vital job you do.
Your punishment is fair and proportional. Stick to your guns and keep your position as a good mod.

I'm going in now. First time in lower school end. Should be different.

Apart from vulnerable instead of venerable 100% agree with all you say. Two things stands out for me in the behaviour of the poster concerned: The manic posting rate, 1000 plus posts in 30 days, and the total inability to let go of a worsening situation. I don't think it's all a wind up and piss take, certainly not when taken to the extreme it has been, but something altogether more nuts.
