  2. So...

    34/437 x 100 = 7.78%

Let's round that up to 8%.

United have only lost 8% of their games at home, over the last 23 years.

well as we've won, i'll change my mind and say it is now <ok>

what a win and what a boost for AVB - I'm beginning to like him, all he has to do now is start playing Lloris and i'll join his fan club:smile:

    We've won 1 in 23 - about 4.5%.

So really, we're not far below average <laugh>

Still haven't seen it, but great result, obviously. All we 've go to do now, is start figuring out how to win our home games!...

No matter what the naysayers might say about them being all over us 2nd half, it was a magnificent defensive performance.
Previous teams might have folded and surendered that lead.

We were lucky in that second half but we made our luck, as the old cock crows so crows the young.

Partly our record against top sides, partly Harry's record against any side between march and April...and partly because UEFA are a bunch of ****ing idiots drowning in their sea of double standards.

It was a different game once Man U scored though, away from home it would have been no different. In a goalfest like that the 3rd goal is always the most significant. If Spurs had got the 3rd it may have been 4 or 5-0. In general play Spurs were the better side IMO.

DL agreed,to withstand such an onslaught and grab a huge slice of luck we def deserved what we got ,but of course the pro Utd media will just focus on how poor they were in the 1st half.

That's the media for you. They act as if it's only United on the pitch. I was confident Spurs would score and win for the simple reason that Spurs have an infinitely better midfield and their backline is as good if not better. There is no way United's defence would have been able to cope with the infinite pressure the Spurs backline did in the 2nd half without conceding.

    Vertonghen > Evra
    G*llas > Ferdinand
    Caulker > Evans
    Walker > Rafael

City are a class above Man U, and the moment the media realise that the better off it will be.

I couldn't give tuppence about what the media think, I watched history yesterday

I've been only up to OT once for a Man U and Bobby Charlton did us over with a couple of goals, including a typical cracker,
and because in the days when we did win at OT those games weren't live on TV, that's the FIRST TIME EVER, not just since 1989 that I've seen Spurs win a lge game live at OT-

I remember the 86 classic where we threw a 3-2 lead away to a late late pen

THe Famous FA Cup win with Hod in goal was live IIRC, but this was my first time everwatching the mighty Spurs do it live at OT in the 50+ years of following Spurs,

this victory is engraved on my heart, and let the media talk about they want, this was a special special fantastic performance and result

now it's just stamford bridge to go for the prem hodoo, but i've been to the bridge three times in person to see us win there, two league, one cup - so it doesn't have the same effect

though probably never seen us win there live on TV

Ghoddle, I couldn't believe either how nervous I was in the second half or how happy I was when we won! And I'm a new fan--you must have been out of your mind.

I've got to figure out how many players Vertonghen dribbled for his first goal. It seemed like fourteen or so...

Also: did I mention I had a dream we beat Man U? ...just wanted to beat that one into the ground...

I just can't believe people are so surprised. If you take out Spurs record there over the last 23 years I'd have given them every chance before the game. It's not as if Spurs have gone there every year and played poorly, last season was probably the first in a good 7/8 seasons.

Up front is the only area where United are/were significantly stronger than Spurs as I said earlier. In defence and midfield Spurs are stronger. The challenge is now to replicate that kind of form at home against the likes of United, that in particular was where Redknapp failed.

Chelsea at home is where we'll really get the measure of how good this new look Spurs side is and how far they can go, but this weekend is key, there is nothing worse than getting your best result of the season and then following it up with a poor result.

I was mate, I absolutely was, and I'm so glad as a new fan you've now seen us do something awesome.

I've watched the full game three times now, and MOTD highlights three times as well, and I still expect them to win every time

I just can't get over it, in many times it's a bit like when we beat Chelsea at Wembley in 2008, when they went ahead, I simply expected them to win, and again just spent hours and hours watching and rewatching the game, waiting for the result to change.

What a goal for JV, and not just his brilliant run, there's about 7 passes before that as we work the ball smoothly across the Theatre of Dreams from right to left.

To me JV is a spurs legend in the making.

Anyway best wishes RWB, and here's hoping wecan finally win a trophy. I take it you weren't around in 2008, that was a very secial time for the club one of our greatest Cup runs ever, winning at City in the Q/Fs, smashing Arsenal 6-2 in the semis, and i was at the Lane for the 5-1 second leg, unbelievable stuff, then doing the billionaires in the final from a goal down

    absolutely epic

I hope you get to experience something like that as a Spurs supporter soon.<cheers>

I too had a good feeling about the game, pre-kick-off. The only 'iffy' thought I had concerned the referee, who had robbed us of at least 3 points last season., notably gainst Stoke.

I'm not bragging nor boasting, nor is this post an 'I told you so'. Its just that I'm 'over the moon' at the moment. Call me a big softy if you like but I actual had tears of delight in my eyes after that game .

    COYS. <cheers>

I thought a draw at best,WRONG AGAIN,I think I'll give up. I thought that Utd have been a little shaky this season but thought that the old hoodoo would remain intact. Like the QPR match it was a tale of two halves. We must break this cycle as we have the late concession of goals. I'd prefer we dominate for the full 90 minutes or at least the majority of the match.

District, you're flattering your team with your remark about Chelsea at home will be the measure of how we are performing. You are in a very false position with the luck that you've had.

Christ tots, exactly what I was thinking this morning. I posted a couple of days ago that I'm waiting for that season defining performance which as yet we haven't had. Although we beat QPR, to go one nil down at home and then equalize by an own goal and win 2-1 was let's be honest a load of old tom tit wasn't it? Now I hate to say it but old District Line is right. For one so ignorant about his own team he is spot on about throwing away this momentum after Saturday by losing to Villa isn't he? Was last week the season defining performance or are we too early for that yet? We haven't been playing that well but are 5th so what will happen if we start to play well? I can't wait to get at Villa and Panathinwhatsit on Thursday to see what happens and to judge for the future. Come on Spurs, don't throw away last week.

HI TMT, there are few teams on this planet that can realistically dominate the majority of a match at OT, we ain't one of them. I don't think the Qpr and Utd games are similar at all. QPR was poor team selection by AVB, plus ppoor play by us, Utd was a superb attacking performance by one of the best teams in the world

Rooney Scholes Carrick Van Persie Welbeck Hernandes Nani, this is what we had up against us at various times in that second half - that's an awesome array of attacking talent

QPR will lose plenty of away games during 2012 in the league, this will probably be united's only defeat.

We played very well at Carlisle and against Lazio, didn't concede any late goals there, nor did we concede a late one against QPR or Utd - we seem to have stopped that habit.
