There seems to be 2 opinions here, that either 1) The US just gave it up and didn't play well enough and assumed they'd win, which seems to stupid to me because of the comeback Europe had already made Saturday, or 2) That Europe just played better and that Poulter was untouchable during the Cup, which I would tend to agree with.

I also don't really follow golf - not that I dislike it - so I can't tell you much more than that. I saw twitter explode about it the past few days so I know generally whats happened.

    Momentum is a strange beast!
The finish to the Saturday afternoon fourballs was key IMHO.
It gave the European Team a bit of belief, 10-6 is far better than 11-5!
I doubt the US team took their foot off pedal, from what I saw, they made everything they looked at on the first two days but next to nothing on Sunday, where’s the Europeans started to hole some putts, heck even Westwood holed some putts!!
It was important to get blue on the board early and that’s what the first five did, gave the others something to fight for/hold onto and at the same time put the fear of god into the US Team.
Don’t really think anyone could blame anyone on the US team inc. Capt Love, both teams going into this event were evenly matched and the result proved that, just didn’t expect the 14 ½ points to be amassed that way, still I’m not complaining, one of the best sporting events I’ve ever seen!

You're a heck of a lot more knowledgable about it then I am, so I'll trust your opinion there. I've always enjoyed going to the driving range, but outside of that I really couldn't tell you much about golf.

Also, I thought all the Hamelot discussion was pretty funny. I don't think I ever quite realized how much he divided opinion until I started looking at forums where there are a large amount of English posters. I guess its different in America because Speed's coverage is pretty decent, because I never got the talk of him being the next "Senna" or whatever I'm sure he got hyped up as by the media. I just remember watching that 07 season and remembering how crazy it was that this rookie came into the sport, albeit with a very strong team at the time, and was competing with Alonso.

Also, very interesting that bit about Hamilton being pushed towards the exit door. I hadn't thought of that for some reason but given what we all have observed over the past several races I actually get where the analysis is coming from, and it sort of makes sense. More support for the theory that Whitmarsh favored Jenson I suppose, although, we'll never really know the whole truth behind it all

Zero, out of curiosity do speed show all the races live or not?, I am only asking because I am going to NY in a couple of weeks while the Indian GP is on and was just wondering what the coverage is like and how accessible it is

There are a few races during the middle of the season that get show on Fox, but otherwise they are all on Speed. They get interrupted by commercials like with anything else, but you get to see everything and they'll cut back to the race if something really big happens. If the provider you have for whatever TV you get to watch on while you're in the States has Speed then you'll get to watch it. There isn't any pay-per-view stuff which is really nice. I also find that the commentating is really good on Speed, which I know has been a problem in the past for you guys since it seems a lot of opinion gets divided about who is good and who isn't between the stations that broadcast it.

It's the same team, just usually delayed, no buildup and rarely interviews. Sucks big dogs.

Not a huge fan of Fox's coverage. SgtBhaji is right, its the same guys which is nice, but the coverage itself gets pretty shoddy because they have to move right on to the next event they are covering, where as since Speed is an all auto channel, they cover a lot more.

Thankfully Fox only show about 3 races or so per season. Speeds coverage is tops. We get all the sessions, plus the GP2 events and some other bonus shows. Like the grid. Even when Fox show the race, speed still cover the other sessions... so it's pretty good coverage.

Quite odd on the Ron front. Surely Ron has been in this business long enough to know that drivers come and go and some even get sent packing. Let's face it, his beloved Senna didn't show him any loyalty when he went to pastures new once McLaren were on the downturn.

    Interesting read.
