I'm the only one? <laugh> Really? <laugh> So do about 5 people on a forum speak for the entire Chelsea support? You are entitled to your opinion and I can have mine, and mine was that he was utter dross with exception to his goal.

When everyone else, pundits, fans and even the opposition support has an different opinion than you there is probably a good reason why <ok>

It was probably his best performance against a big team since United away. On another day he might have scored another his movement seemed to cause Koscielny and Vermaelen real problems, hopefully there is more to come though

I agree with everything bar Luiz. His defending throughout the match IMO was poor. If Cahill had started we probably wouldn't have conceded and would still have our away clean sheet record in tact. For me, it should always be Cahill/Terry away from home and/or against the better sides.

We have to keep going but our stock is definitely rising. If we can keep come out of the City and United games unbeaten I think we're in with a shout. How well we do without JT could be a deciding factor though. It's near enough 6/7 games every month now, games are coming thick and fast <ok>

    Tawrez performed his role perfectly.

We had a diving debate mid match on Dferchitchat. Pulis wants a three match ban for diving. We all agreed no ref would ever make a decision if that were the case. The consensus was a ten minute sin bin for divers (and many other fouls). We saw one yellow for a clear dive, well done referee, then he completely missed another clear one. Another clear dive he did see but the linesman flagged and he wrongly gave a foul because of that. This is the crux of the problem.

Players are not going to clean their act up. Coaches and managers will be blind to it and actually encourage it in private yet abhor it publicly, because the money in the game is far too great for sportsmanship to survive. Referees can not be certain one hundred percent even with a clear view. Diving is here to stay, until we get video referees.

Are you still failing to grasp the definition of opinion? I personally expect more from a £50m player on over £150k a week....

But he scored 60 odd last season and was free? He has earned that 275k, he hasn't been on that his entire time at Barca. What an utterly dross comparison.

Utterly dross is such an utterly dross word <laugh> na i'm only playing Drogs, just don't get how ya thought Torres was **** yesterday ! If that was Drogba everyone would be creaming themselves, the legend could only have dreamt about that finish !! And woulda been proud at how Torre held the ball up !! Was nice to see him go close with some home-made chances as well

Perhaps I'm being a little harsh, but you have to say he should be doing better for the money he's on. 10 goals in 52 games in not good enough! If you've got the game recorded or whatever have a look at his performance particularly in the 2nd half, terrible. I did compliment him on his finish, that was world class.

This season he has 5goals in 9 + 2 assists though, he is doing quality this season. And i re-watched the whole game yesterday i thought he was immense he held the ball up perfectly, he was a constant attacking threat, linked up great with mata and oscar, controlled the ball great and his first touch was much better than previous games, he constantly put threatening balls in the box, made his own chances including 2 which were very close to goals, his passing was perfect as always, and his team-work, back-tracking and defending was immense as always he was always coming back and winning the ball back.

He made 2 minor mistakes - 1 where he took too long to shoot because he was trying to bend it in

And the other one was where he should of passed to Hazard but passed to Oscar instead

What has his price-tag / wages got to do with it? You don't pay them the club plays them. Malouda is on 80k a week fair enough his not in the team but he still didn't even offer half of what Torres offered last season when by your logic he should have been. Take out the big games over the last 2 years and Drogba wasn't worth nowhere near to what he was being paid a week. Wages / transfer fees don't bother me in the slightest.

He's finally scoring goals which is the main thing. Last season he was doing everything but scoring goals and now his finally scoring goals. People moan when he doesn't score then moan when he does score it's pathetic and i'm glad its only a minority

Have to agree Torres was superb and worked hard, distracted the centre backs at every turn.

Point taken, arguement well put. I have previously said something similar, i.e. JT will be a great teacher in the next year or two he has at the top. However, like Frank, don't think he should be automatic choice now.

have to agree with Drog on this one.

When we broke on the counter and had four on four etc, the ball would go into Torres, and he'd run into defenders and lose it every time instead of pushing it on to Mata or Hazard.

And the way he fell over after rounding the keeper in the first half after an air shot was shameful. Trying to claim a pen too.

He bottled the shot and looked for excuses. Most of his goals at Pool came from one on ones, and now that is the weakest part of this game.

However he did work hard and his goal was superb (when he did not have time to choke)

Cheers CP <ok> . Hope he keeps it up, deserves it so much. Rate the guy so much, most people would have just given up and said **** it but no his constantly tried tried tried and worked 10 x harder and he is finally reaping the rewards he deserved, the amount of bad luck and goals he should have had last season was mad. He had about 4 goals wrongly ruled offside, hit the post about 4 times, woodwork 3 times, got sent off vs swansea after starting off excellently and on and on. He has never given up and always tried his best

Fair enough he hasn't been amazing since he came on the goal return but that don't bother me give me teamwork + effort anyday of the week, Sturridge may be a good goal scorer but he does **** all for the team, it's a team game not a one man game. He never tracks back, he never defends, never passes and is so lazy. Fair enough he has improved this season and i hope he keeps it up but last season he was one of our worst players imo.

Football is a team game end of and Torres works his nuts off for the team, he doesn't always score but when he don't he assists, tries to set up and play in other players, tracks back, defends, tackles, tries to win the ball back. He's a hardworker. Look at Hazard saturday, wasn't that good on the ball but off it he was excellent as was Oscar, Oscar completely ran the midfield and stopped Arteta and Cazorla from getting any space.

These things often go unnoticed, pisses me off that all some people do is look at the goals / assists and judge it on that. Made me laugh last season how some people were saying Modric is not that good because his assist/goal return is poor. Comical tbh.

Anyway lets hope we and Torres can keep it up and roll on tomorrow <diva>

I agree with most of this but if you think a 50 million striker isn't going to be judged primarily on goals then you're not being realistic. He wasn't bought for his work rate, that is a given if you want to play for a top club (hence why the likes of Bervatoss and Adebayor have only performed regularly for lesser teams).

Personally I think this season he is doing just enough in performances and goals but need to see match winning performances every few games like Ronney, RVP, Drogba etc provide.

I think he done well Saturday but not convinced he is 'back' just yet.
