Also would point out 'qprbeth' that there's a difference between (historically) people that were culturally open to practicing homosexuality (eg Spartans, famously) and those that had an inherent genetic urge to do only that. In a venn diagram there would, of course, be an over-lap.

Okay sorry to pull rank on you here...Yes I do understand evolution upto about postdoctoral level....and we can compare letters after our names if you want ..So lets do this arguement on a one to one basis I have explained to you why homosexuality has been IMPORTANT to evolution of the human race (sex with women whenever the urge takes you leads to population expansion....argiculture, hunting was not good enough to support that level of growth) Can I have your take on why it has not...Come on I am really interested Shefford

Mr Fix-it-for me is the subject of a documentary on Wednesday which alleges at least 10 actual events of grooming and sexual assault against under 16 year old girls and at least 1 actual rape...some of which happened at the BBC. There are other numerous accounts of inappropriate actions one of which was grabbing Colleen Nolans boob...apparently he was frightened off by the other Nolan sisters...who wouldn't be! Ester Rantzen is shocked and has alluded to a cover up at the BBC. This documentary seems to have started out as a segment on Newsnight...but was dropped for "editorial" reasons About all I have read so far...but documentary airs on Wednesday on ITV and will be able to judge better after that I know there have been soome incredibly unsavoury rumours about him over the years...really really nasty ones ...but at moment am keep an open mind till at least Wednesday
Self-Moderation Please Note to Shefford: You are ranting mate. Don't want to close another interesting thread or issue bans but your evident anger does need to be filtered out before posting. As it is it's causing other normally placid posters to overreact. Does nothing to maintain board harmony and makes unnecessary work for us mods. Is that the aim? You're right of course (but you don't have to shout about it), morality is a discussion about rights and wrongs and you are entitled to your opinion - but only if put calmly, reasonably and respectfully. You're saying homosexuality is wrong. Others are saying it's not. Whilst you're challenging others to state the reasons for their opinions (which Beth has from a scientific perspective, and Matt has tried to from a practical reality viewpoint), I note that you haven't stated the reason(s) for your's, which I'd be fascinated to read. Just a note re. Mr Shefford for those that don't know. Occasional poster. Been around for ages. Never seen him get so animated - and for that reason I want to try to ignore some of the excesses on this thread in the hope of reasonable debate.
