Agreed. I can't remember the last player we had who was as technically good as Diouf. I know McCormack isn't half bad but Diouf is just top class. I seem to remember Robbie Blake was pretty good, don't think we ever used him properly though.
Diouf has had glowing reports from past team mates and he is very respected in the Leeds dressing room.(taken from a first team player) He does more 4 this team than Snoddy ever did, he is a better player and is an upgrade. Deplorable person......you make it sound like he is a murderer or worse.
Again, for the record, I used the term deplorable because of what I've seen people on here calling him. Personally, I couldn't care less about his past. He's here to play football, and at the moment he's doing a grand job
He's done some horrible things in the past, like spitting on fans and players, severely injuring a professional footballer etc, but as far as I know he's never killed anyone or even come close to it. He's just a player some people love to hate, and what they see in one player, doesn't follow on others. As for how Diouf is in the dressing room, he's always been known to be great with team mates and youngsters, He doesn't have the ego of Beckford and has been there and done it now, hence he can be a calming influence with others.
Boab just clarify how many games have you witnessed Diouf in the dressing room and which Leeds player are you?
Perhaps I am in a minority of 1 (again) but I would have Peter Sutcliffe in the bloody team if he could put in 30 performances this season athat get us promoted.
Correct. Remember Keane was no shrinking violet at manure and hated by all non manure fans. He played a huge part in their success for many years though.
I have seen Diouf play twice at Ashton Gate recently - once for Doncaster and one for you guys. In the Donny game he put in a massive amount of workrate - in fact that day he was their only decent player. Yesterday again he played well - you can tell his class when he gets the ball. Shame some of his "antics" have given him a (deserved) bad reputation. As for your team - you looked decent and took advantage of our woeful defending - Warnock will have you there or thereabouts
It's not what he does on the pitch that bothers me, it's off the pitch. Clearly you lot would happily support Marlon King or Lee Hughes.
Again, I understand where you're coming from. But the way I see it, I'm a football fan, not a life counsellor. It's not my job to judge him on what he does off the field, as long as he's not dragging the club's name through the dirt. I support him from a purely footballing point of view, and if he does it on the pitch, that's enough for me. To be perfectly honest, the main reason I'd support Diouf or slightly controversial signings like him is because I just don't care enough about what they do off the pitch, short of murder. When I watch football, I don't think 'oh he's spat at someone before' or 'oh dear, he's driven drunk before', I judge them on their ability on the pitch. And if you're not happy about Leeds signing someone with a bad reputation that every other club hates - let's face it, we're hardly going to win popularity contests any time soon.
Would you be pissed off if your work bosses wanted a say in how you run your life outside of work? While I agree a footballer does have a certain responsibility to the club and he does run the risk of dragging a clubs name through the dirt what he does while not wearing a Leeds shirt isn't much of a bother to me. He hasn't dragged Leeds name through the dirt and I can honestly say without Diouf I believe we would be at least 6 points worse off and out of the cup by now. Take John Terry - Shags team mates birds and racially abuses other players, is he any better? I wonder how many players behind closed doors abuse their partners or do shocking things that would make you feel disgusted with them. Diouf is no angel, it just happens that his antics are more in the public eye and until he lets Leeds Utd down I will support him as a player. I don't like Neil Warnock as a person but as a manager I think he is class at this level.

I have no problem with the spitting, I suggest you do some investigating. The only thing separating Diouf from Lee Hughes/Luke McCormick is luck.
A bit like Alan Sugar then, or Richard Branson, or the down-on-his-luck salesman guy that started McDonalds at the age of 55? The world is full of lucky and unlucky people. You really don't need to have such a downer on things.
