"The ‘mad man’ episode is yet another demonstration of the contempt the Bhoys Broadcasting Corporation have for Rangers FC and it’s support. Ally McCoist knows all about it after being on the end of an editing stitch up on the sectarian issue last season. Can you imagine Neil Lennon being given this treatment? Given that Diarmid O’Hara, a descendant of John O’Hara-one of the co-founders of Celtic, is a chief political editor at BBC Scotland, we can dream on! Quite possibly, this fact can explain, partially anyway, the culture of contempt, not to mention the outright hostility, employees at BBC Scotland have towards Glasgow Rangers. Examples of this are endless, referring to Ibrox with the derogatory Castle Greyskull term, casually throwing in the hun word whenever they feel like it (a term deemed sectarian and offensive by anti sectarian group Nil By Mouth), but maybe I’m just nit picking. Maybe I’m part of the ‘victim culture’ Stuart Cosgrove was referring to when talking about the gunman banner at Celtic Park. I’ve got news for Stuart in case he hasn’t heard, PIRA know all about ‘victim’ culture-they created thousands of them-and there’s the rub. Anything that could be construed as offensive behaviour by Rangers fans over the years had this biased organization all over it meanwhile, over at the San Giro, anything goes-and usually does go-unreported by them. When there is a light shone upon the darkness, it’s the result of a ‘victim culture’. Another contrast is this. When it comes to alleged corruption over at Ibrox, Mark Daly’s tenacity is unrivalled, though plenty want to give him a run for his money it has to be said! Compare this with the blanket ban on the corruption at Hampden. Atholl Duncan, Head of News and Current Affairs at BBC Scotland from 2006-2011, proudly quotes, “the purpose of investigative journalism is to shed light in places people don’t want light to be shed, and bring about change. We need to keep poking our noses in and exposing wrong doing” Except of course, when it involves a corrupt network running the game of football in Scotland. A network consisting of Stuart Regan, Peter Lawwell, Neil Doncaster, John Reid, Harper Macleod, to name but a few. This is a story screaming for ‘light to be shed’, but they don’t want to know. .Is there a ’D’ Notice on this or something?! This organization is supposed to be unbiased, we all pay the license fee after all, but it has a proven track record for a number of years now as ‘leaning to the left’. This bias is much more acute in Scotland due to reasons mentioned. Lobbying local MPs for this shameful treatment to end is a waste of time. The problem we Rangers fans have is this-the political parties don’t want to know. Ibrox is seen as a unionist rallying point so the SNP would be glad to see the back of us. This was borne out when the very existence of a 140 year old institution, and hundreds of jobs were under threat, the local MP-Nicola Surgeon-hadn’t a word of support to say to her constituents. The Tories (locally anyway)are petrified of being accused of playing the ‘orange card’, and as for Labour in west central Scotland, the fact there hasn’t been a protestant Lord Provost of Glasgow for 30 years tells you everything. A possible course of action I suggest would be to lobby the Secretary of State for Culture Media and Sport, for pressure to be brought on these enemies of ours. Maria Miller is Church of England and Conservative, and I would have thought no inherent hostility towards Glasgow Rangers, and not much love for the BBC either. Meanwhile, I’ve posted a copy of a recent complaint I made to Enemy HQ. Bill, keep up the good work Sir!"
I love he talks about the reffering to Ibrox as castle grayscull how utterly awful that must have been for everyone and then turns round and call parkhead san giro.
Nananananananana McMurdo Man. Today's is an absolute beauty, set your faces to stunned. [h=1]A Light Shone In The Night[/h] September 29, 2012 · by billmcmurdo · in Uncategorized Those who have seen the latest Batman movie - The Dark Knight Rises - will be aware of its relevance to the situation in both Scottish football and Scottish society in general at this present time. The story is about how Gotham City has become corrupt at every level and how Batman, whose name and honour have been falsely besmirched, fights back against the endemic corruption and defeats the evil cabal running the city. It is a dark and brutal tale and highlights how weakness and compromise can open the door to greater evils in society. The film is a powerful metaphor mirroring what is taking place in Scotland right now as we see corruption in its many forms with the bitter agenda shown by many toward Rangers Football Club. Bruce Wayne, who is the real person behind Batman, is a man born to privilege, wealth and power but has all these stripped from him before he earns the right to champion the people of Gotham and take back the city from the corrupt cabal that holds it in its iron grasp. Rangers – the so-called establishment club of Scotland – has also been shorn of prestige, power and financial honour in recent times. Like Batman, Rangers faces a corrupt group intent on the club’s destruction as a competitive force, while highlighting the club’s financial pulling power. In the movie, the criminals running Gotham wanted Bruce Wayne shackled so that they could harness the power of his assets, including a powerful fusion reactor. Anyone see the parallels? ( Frankly no, I think you are off your head like The Joker, that's the only parallel I see) When it comes down to it, the story of The Dark Knight Rises is based on the timeless battle of good versus evil – just like many a good Western. Supporters of The Rangers Football Club are convinced that right is on their side in the battle they find themselves in at this present time. When you read the comments of Rangers’ enemies on fan forums and other places, it is not hard for anyone to work out who are the good guys and who are the villains in the situation. (If that is what you see then i'm afraid you are deluded) Whether or not you like it – and some don’t, even among Rangers fans – what is happening in Scottish football is a reflection of what is happening at a much broader level within Scottish society, as the country is increasingly polarised. In The Dark Knight Rises the good guys versus bad guys face-off in Gotham eventually descended into a civil war scenario. People who didn’t want to fight eventually had no option if they wanted to retain their city from corruption. (I think I can see where this is headed.) As the campaign of abuse mounts up on Rangers, even the most timid of souls in the Rangers camp is realising that if they don’t make a stand, the haters will trample on the club incessantly. It was heartening to see Rangers ban the BBC from Ibrox after the vile montage of manager Ally McCoist plunging to his death was aired by that discredited media outlet before Wednesday’s game against Motherwell. Charles Green and Ally Mccoist himself are showing more and more that they are up for a scrap with Rangers-haters at any level. The strong leadership shown by these two is helping to galvanise the Rangers support into a fearsome force which is very unwise to mess with. Rangers fans are finding they have enormous clout when they unite as one. This power must be wielded appropriately and responsibly, however. To use a phrase from another superhero movie, with great power comes great responsibility. (Jesus H Christ ) One more parallel between Batman and The Rangers will no doubt thrill the hearts of many Rangers fans. This concerns the iconic image of a bat shone into the night sky, summoning Batman and letting him know he needs to fight the bad guys one more time. Just when evil seems to be about to win the day… Just when corruption is at its worst… Just when all hope seems to be lost… A light shone in the night. please log in to view this image
"Bill, you have surpassed yourself. Another brilliant article. In the earlier movies, of course, Bruce Wayne has to discover who he is and overcome his deepest fears. Another analogy for the Rangers family as we rediscover who we are and overcome the fear of standing up and speaking out against obvious wrong in a society where our enemies and criminals flourish". "Such a good parallel, Bill. Slowly, the fans are realising who is behind the mess we are in. While Murray did our club no good at the end, one man – Lawwell – has orchestrated the campaign which he hoped would lead to our demise. Some Rangers men, however, have been in the vanguard of the fightback and they, and the ones coming on board, are to be thanked". "Bill I read your Blog everyday and think it is great, I am one of those timid souls amongst the Rangers support but as you rightly say I will no longer sit by and along this cabal as you rightly call them to try and destroy us, Terrible things have happened at Ibrox over the last few years and rightly so the club has come under fire and been punished in the harshest terms but we cannot along these people who are hell bent on our destruction to win the day and with the help of our own super heroes in the guise of Charles Green and Super Ally I am sure we can win the day, Bill keep up the good work without people like you the true nature of the agenda against us may never have come to light".
Using a comic book super hero to analogise Was Batman a bigot? Did he entertain a No-Catholics-as-my-butler employment policy? Had he spent decades cheating all the other residents of Gotham City? McMurdo's a spastic.
'******s' doesn't even begin to describe his followers - first, Murray and then Whyte sucked them all in and now Green is taking them for the idiots they undoubtedly are - they just seem incapable of learning. Unbelievably, collectively, they appear to lack the intellectual ability and attention span, of a gnat and depressingly, I wonder just how great are their numbers. By the way 'dolt' is a fabulous word - apparently it may be 'the most sophisticated insult in the English language'. I could well believe it.
Perhaps some are just happy to have a star onto which they can hitch their wagons, mind you that was exactly what happened with Whyte. Maybe people are just scared to ask questions in case they get an answer they don't want to hear.
Does he see himself as some sort of caped crusader? their mass stupidity is astounding and not a little scary.
"We just need sumdy tae lead us John" That is the mentality. I do believe there are doubters but those doubters are not expressing their dissent. The same thing happens with other aspects of their support as well. It allows handicapables to take the lead should they so wish. There is a saying in the GAA. If you want to be an administrator in the GAA, you'll be an administrator in the GAA. If you want to lead the zombie bastards.....you can.
His followers (sic) certainly do, you get the impression that the people who post comments on his blog would lick the very peanuts out of his ****. It does make me laugh though, they are all the same patter: We've taken enough, they better watch out, we are going to take over...blah blah ****ing blah.
"stick yer spl up yer ass" so how does that fit into the "adventure"and what does it mean for the future? anyone else confused???
Charles green just spouts that crap from follow follow and that, because thats what they want to hear. Give him the choice between staying in the 1st or going into the spl for the extra income and European football and you can guarantee they'll be in the spl. He has told them from day one he is only here for their money and once he gets his 30m he has told them he'll be offski.
ally's results are that of a manager that doesn't have a fookin clue. how's green gonna square that particular circle? and what are the followfollowers buying shares in? so they are all on board cos charlie says NO SURRENDER?...ffs,talk about gullible.
Both Alastair Johnston and Jim Traynor have given ammunition to Rangers fans in recent times. (Both men of course are noted for their impartiality) I am speaking of what both men referred to – the possibility of side or off-book payments to football players in the SPL over and above their playing contracts. Image rights – mentioned by both men – do not constitute payment for footballing services so are not moderated by the SPL. However, it is possible to fiddle image rights to mask payment for playing and HMRC are currently probing this in the game, along with the far wider problem for them that image rights can be used to avoid paying tax. This particularly applies to foreign players with agents based abroad. It would appear that Both Johnston and Traynor may know of instances where image rights have been misused or abused, especially Johnston. Are we really to believe that other clubs in the SPL are so squeaky clean that they have not breached SPL rules in paying players? Ever.(How exactly would Traynor know that a foreign player may have had a second contract which dealt specifically with Image Rights? I could also ask the same of Johnston, it’s not as if the player receiving these alleged extra monies would be bragging about it) Both Traynor and Johnston advocate a thorough investigation of all contractual dealings involving every player in the SPL – something which no football fan who wants integrity and equity in the game could possibly object to. (Now here’s a strange thing, if people who are entirely innocent of any wrongdoing can have no complaints about investigations into their financial practices why have Rangers rolled out a procession of ex-players and employees calling for the investigation into Dual contracts and EBTs to be shelved? Surely going by your logic they can have no complaints?) The cost of this investigation – which should become a regular monitoring process – may be substantial but, given the witch hunt conducted by the SFA and SPL against Rangers, the Ibrox club and its fans can rightly demand that the same enthusiasm now be shown in investigating the contracts of other clubs’ players. (So according to you, the SPL/SFA should launch a massive invesigation on the basis that one Journalist and an Ex Chairman of Rangers FC have made unfounded alleagtions that “They were at it too” Maybe even the New new BBC, which loves a good investigation – unless it happens to be into the criminal activities of its childrens’ TV presenters – could probe into how players of every other SPL club are paid. The big problem with the SPL is that both it and the SFA are now hopelessly compromised organisations – some would say corrupt. (Again I would ask why the BBC would launch such an investigation on the say so of a discredited ex Chairman and some fat hack from the Record?) So any investigation into SPL member clubs is likely to either not go deep enough or to whitewash and cover up any wrongdoings discovered. In short, the SFA and SPL should themselves be investigated, along with SPL member clubs. (In other words, if they don’t find any wrongdoing by other clubs it will obviously be a whitewash) Rangers fans – and other concerned people – may feel the time is now right to ask for a full inquiry into the dealings of the cabal that presently runs Scottish football. A tactful letter to the local MP and/or MSP may be the very thing that Rangers fans could do to ask for such an official inquiry. (So your e-mail petition is not working then?) Media outlets could also be lobbied to use their powers of investigation and really go after the truth in terms of what’s really going on in Scottish football. Of course, they would have to be careful not to tread on the toes of the police officers who are presently looking into matters surrounding the Rangers crisis. If what I am told is correct, then Rangers fans’ fears that the corruption within the game will not be exposed are misplaced. (Translation – Any media outlet who does not push for a full investigation into every club in the land are Rangers Haters or simply Bigots) The situation in Scottish football now is that so much has been made of the apparent guilt of Rangers as regards to EBTs and side letters that it would only take one instance of off-book payments made by another SPL club for the whole system to come crashing down. (How would the whole system come crashing down exactly?) Who in their right mind would bet no such payments have been made? Admittedly, with a corrupt SPL or at least one that would happily cover up such payments, then the truth might be hidden from the public. (Yes, you’ve hit the nail on the head again Bill, it’s all a massive anti Rangers (who have done absolutely nothing wrong) conspiracy) Which is why we need the whole system investigated. As always, in the interests of sporting integrity, of course. Football has always been a murky business, a brown-envelope and biscuit tin culture. (And Rangers – Minty in particular- were masters of this culture, or so they thought) Even schoolkids in the playground are aware of this. (What are you slevvering about?) No club wants its every fiscal detail scrutinised and investigated forensically. But in conducting the Inquisition against Rangers FC, clubs in the SPL may just have opened the door to such a scenario, where every penny must be accounted for to HMRC. Of course, clubs that are squeaky clean need not fear this. (More bullshit whataboutery) Fans of other teams can help in clearing up Scottish football by asking their own team’s officials if they have anything to hide. After all, we all know how much they are sticklers for sporting integrity, those non-Rangers football supporters. (So you expect the fans of clubs who are all bigots/Rangers haters to call on their own clubs to launch an investigation to help Rangers? I think I see a slight flaw in your reasoning) The simple truth is that in going after Rangers over EBTs and side letters, the SPL and its member clubs have opened Pandora’s Box. Question is, can they live with it? (I can, I’m pretty sure fans of other clubs can too, so maybe you should start another petition) http://billmcmurdo.w...g-pandoras-box/
