Has anyone on here tried Hull's hippest new eatery yet? http://www.1884dockstreetkitchen.co.uk/# please log in to view this image Apparently the Allam's were there last night with Brucey and all the major City sponsors.
I have not, though I do live on the Marina. It looks a bit high-end for me. I know people who've been, and said it's nice, but you have to sniff your wine and say poncey things to get along there. I am much more likely to keep on giving my custom to Pizza Exress, and I am proud to say so! I ran by this new place the other day though, and had a prolonged stare through the window. It looks smart. I hope I didn't put them off their Foie Gras with my sweaty, tired face. Oh, 'grumpyoldtiger' was in there the other night, I just remembered. This is an unmitigated fact. I'd ask him. I think he said he enjoyed it. Party!
I will give it a try when I am next down, looks to have a varied wine menu. I guess this will give Ceruttis a run for their money.
It doesn't look like I could afford to eat there , not a problem for you though OLM I shouldn't imagine
i was wondering today if theres any decent restaurants near town centre for new years eve, i could only think of Ask ..is there many others? dont think ive ever had a meal in the town centre except mcdonalds..
ya wonder why there isn't any truly good restaurants in Hull when its scoffed at (pardonde de punde )
I'm glad there is a better class of eatery in Hull, its a fact of life in a capitalist society some people are rich enough to eat at places like this (and some privileged people in communist societies) but I'm not one of them. But at least Hull is hopefully perking up a bit if we can attract more affluent clientèle for places such as this. I had a look at their website and the first thing I noticed was no prices, like certain shops, if you have to ask the price you can't afford it. Bit different from the likes of May Sum (now Little Susie I think) all you can eat for about 7 quid.
