Complete agree....and we will be I think. Was expecting the idiots to start going on about Adkins being sacked after the game and not during it, but I guess it will get worse. Personally I thought the first 15 mins and most of the second half looked pretty good - we're definitely improving. There are definitely worse side than us in this league, and we are steadily improving. We're into a run of games now that we can definitely pick up points from - we were never going to get anything from this one.
I thought there was a gap between the midfield and defence and as there was no shield when players ran at the defence they dropped very deep. I thought Davis looked quite good in the second half. Anyone know how long Schneiderlin is out for :s?
In the past, we might have thought Saints could beat Everton, but they are now a better side. On the plus side, we've got another 'top side' out of the way. I know we have goals in us, so not downhearted. Glad Newcastle managed to get a draw...would hate to drop into the bottom three, even though that is pretty meaningless this early in season. Onwards and upwards.
I'm not sure it is actually. Were I a Reading or Norwich fan I would be concerned (or Villa come to that). We have undoubted qualities, but clearly have a couple of gaps which hopefully will be plugged in January. We will get better, and I think have found our keeper.. I am very confident that even now we are not one of the three worst teams in this league. We have proved we can score goals against anyone - and it is teams who can't score who typically go down. The future is bright - the future is red and white
De Ridder wasn't even in the travelling party today ... surprising, I thought he would have at least travelled with the squad
Everton are exactly what we should be aspiring to be. Excellent team. That game went exactly as I expected it would so at least I get some nice points for the prediction game.
Unlucky lads, you were outplayed today though, good luck with the rest of the season despite your kopite manager and kopite striker
I have a wish, that we could find a good quality Left Back to tide us over, it looks as if most of the problems today stemmed from our inability to cut out the danger down that side, seemed to address it in the second half but that seemed to cramp Ramirez style.
Was fairly obvious that most of the danger would come from the left. Still better sides than us will get spanked by Everton. Think they will be top 6 this season. Fellaini looks a different player!
Same with you, you're doing a lot better than Liverpool are! You genuinely look like top 4 candidates and have made a great start, good luck.
Fulham are hardly a poor team, of course they're not. I expect them to finish mid-table without any problems at all. But at home, we've got to be looking at getting a point in that - and I think we have the capabilities to do that. It's not important to beat them, not by any means - turning draws into wins against the likes of Fulham, Sunderland, Stoke, WBA etc is what moves you up from a relegation battler to a safe mid-table team, and right now that is some way off for us - but over the course of the season we do need to be picking up points against sides above the bottom six or seven teams. A point here, a point there, the very occassional win. Fulham at home is one of those points I've got earmarked, especially if Berbatov is injured. Keeping my fingers crossed that Everton can finish 4th. There's nothing not to like about them. There's not even any envy or jealously there on my part. Just total and utter respect and admiration.
With this site? Won't go on it from work owing to a similar occurrence before, likely from a dodgy script either in an avatar or ad. Run NoScript at home so it's not a problem, but I'd be extremely wary about coming on here without it.
Everton showed us how to unlock other teams with quick passing, whereas we were slow releasing the ball in the final 3rd
Although a result away at Everton wasn't expected, I was a little bit disappointed with the way that we lost today. We have to learn how to react positively after conceding a goal away from home, after Everton scored their first we seemed to sit back and let them come on to us too much. By halftime the game was over and Everton were always comfortable and in control despite us keeping the ball better in the second half, I hope that good lessons were learnt today and we show more character as a team the next time we let in a goal away.
