Good performance second half (in spells). Everton looked excellent and clearly we missed Schneiderlin. Commentator was doing my head in though. I hate it when they turn it into a "big club" w*nkfest.
Yeah, I'll take that. Was toying between a 2-0 defeat and a 3-1 defeat before the game. One day, I would love us to be what Everton are these days. Without multi-billion pound investment (as that is basically the only way to match City or Utd), they should be the club others strive to be.
Half decent performance in second half but we do have to take our chances when they occur MotM .... Gazza
No shame in losing that game, would have been nice if a few things had of gone a bit better, JRod should have put us 2 up, their first goal was a bit lucky and Gazza should have done much much better for their second, and even after that Gaston could have brought us back into the game. Not a great performance, or a great result, but nothing to get worried about. There are still improvements to be made, but I still have full faith in our boys and in Adkins.
Overall a game i expected to lose so the performance was more important to me. That being said i think we have a great young keeper in Gazza. Made some quality saves and kept the scoreline down. Ramirez has opened his scoring which could be important in the long run. Nothing worse than a run of games without a goal. Negatives i think that Jrod starting in place of punch was a mistake. Other than that not too worried.
Not terribly upset; tipping Everton over at Goodison is a pretty massive task. Our opportunity was the Rodriguez chance; it wasn't taken, and Everton took advantage of our lapses.
Proud of the second half display, thought Ward prowse was quality! Defence seem to gel better too! My mine gripe is the quality of the delivery was shocking today! Don't be surprised to see mayuka start next week! He looks lively and very raw and unpredictable! Overall no disgrace loosing 3-1 to the best Everton side in years ! Gazza was very good in goal! Incase anyone's wondering if I got all that from the radio I didn't I watched the live stream haha!
We drew the second half and there wasn't much between us in that period. The momentum's on us for Fulham, they'll be on a downer after throwing away a 1-0 lead to City.
Fulham will be the second game we get against what should be a bottom half club. We messed up against Wigan but that doesn't mean too much. That game will be a very good guage of how good/bad we really are!
Yeah, these are the games where we'll get a good sense of what this team can do. Fulham is the better side, but at home we need to be competitive against the mid-table sides. Should make for an interesting one, as they haven't lacked firepower early in the year.
Our record there is poor and so it continues. Its the next 8 or so games that really matter. If we are still shipping 3 goals a game and not picking up points during that run then I will start to get worried. For now though, I shall finish work get a bottle of red and watch Norwich get smashed and Reading throw a lead away, twice.
The thing that this game has really highlighted for me is how important Spiderman is for us, neither JWP or Davis (not knocking them thought they were decent) are as defensively minded, and without Cork as well to cover that role there was often space in front of our defense that Fellani and others kept getting into. Otherwise, except that 20mins spell in the first half where we were torn apart I don't think it was too bad a performance. p.s. already in love with Gaston, and glad he opened his account.
Fulham's away form tends to be quite poor, nonetheless they are one of the best sides-if you exclude the "big boys".
Fulham are currently seventh. I think they are a better team under Jol than many think. But I think we need to get something out of that game or our away game against West Ham.
Ha! Falque's on the Spurs bench against Man Utd. He couldn't even make the Saints bench against Championship teams last season!
