A great result and even better because there's room for improvement don't want to pick out anyone in particular as it was a good team performance. We've won a league game lads
I know what you mean. When Reina made his error it annoyed me as much as losing! He seriously needs a couple of clean sheets for a confidence boost. Not a lot he could done about the second mind
Came home to see the score. Happy days. Any one who saw the game want to do some player ratings so I can have an idea of how every one performed?
Reina 7 Wisdom 8 Skrtel 6 Agger 7 Johnson 8 Allen 8 Gerrard 7 Sahin 7 Sterling 7 Suso 8 Suarez 9 Carra 6 Assaidi 7 Henderson 6
I notice Muppetfinder General is nowhere to be found these days after our recent impressive performances. The grumpy, pessimistic sod.
As if scoring 5 wasnt enough, Suarez was captain on my Fantasy team 34 points (which should be 40 after they give out the bonus)
Joe Allen 95 passes (96% accurate) with 29% of them going forward. Steven Gerrard 93 passes (89% accurate) with 24% going forward
Why didnt Johnson play the whole game? Did this team look like it could be our strongest team? (Apart from Lucas?) I believe Rodgers got his first win after 5 games last season to.
BBC Sports has become really dodgy. This is the results according to their website. City beat Fulham, not a draw. Reading Newcastle was 2-2 not 0-0 Sunderland beat Wigan.
Here's my take on todays events. Suarez was majestic as was the rest of the side, but and this is a big but, even when you are 4-0 up you still cannot get sloppy. There was kamikaze defending for their two goals, that in a way took the shine off the result and the performance. The score-line didn't justify the performance, we played better than the score-line suggests. We opened Norwich up with every attack. Brendan Rodgers likes quick-thinking players and thanks to Rafa Benitez, he's got one in Suso. This boy has vision beyond his years, he's light-years ahead of English players of the same age. My three star performers were Suso, Suarez and Sahin.
Our performances haven't been bad, and the football we've been playing is light-years ahead of what it was last season. It is nice to get that first win as it takes the monkey off the back. There is enormous potential in these group of players. The signs are very very encouraging.
