This . we had chances , failed to make anything from them . END OF . Do we have to rely on refs now to win games ?
Based on todays performances you've gotta say a front 3 of Podolski-Giroud-Gervinho to start our next game with theo and oxo comming on when legs are getting tired at 60-70 mins.
To be fair, it was an incredible difficult chance. Cech forced him wide and there was a Chelsea defender back on the line so the only way he could have beaten the defender is by power, which unfortunately meant in trying to put lots of power in the shot he dragged it wide, most players would have, I reckon.
No, but sh!t ref performances should be condoned now? We should have finished our chances and we need to work on set-pieces but it's very hard to win a game when the referee is showing advantage to your opponents.
Yeah but its all subjective. Go on the chelsea game thread and they are complaining about the same ref . Since when does any ref have a great game .
How can that performance make you dobt Giroud? He came on and changed our front line - we then got chances and his movement gave him a couple of good opportunities, the first cech made a good save and the second he moved well, beat the kepper with a good touch and was unlucky with the finish from a tight angle and under his feet. He won everything in the air, when no-one was winning the ball or headers he changed that. He created both space and good knock ons. He is very strong and i think he's going to do well in the prem.
Would he? Because I remember him missing even easier chances than that. Besides he's gone so bringing him up every time we don't win seems pointless
Also credit where credit is due - i thought Chelsea played well and they where the best side we have faced so far. So a 2-1 loss in a game we had chances and lost to set pieces, i'ts not that bad.
To be fair i dont really remember chelsea creating anything from open play. We might have got away with a draw with proper defending
Not saying that refs have great games, but the Chavs are pricks. The ref gave them every thing and ignored blatant fouls. And I love after 1 loss the pundits are slagging us off.
And seeing the 2nd goal, Mannone really should have followed it all the way. Per has to start against Olympiakos, sorry Kos but your not ready yet(I see where AW was coming from but it didn't work) Oxo has to start as well
OK, to those insulting me. Fernando Llorente would have scored that. And we could have signed him, not Giroud. We should have signed him, not Giroud.
