With respect Grifter, that is a cop out. We weren't unlucky against the spuds, we were out thought and out played in the second half. AVB (who was a joke at Chelshit) changed his formation at half time and MH didn't react. THAT is why we lost there.
How long will you need to keep saying "should have won"/"didn't get the rub of the green"? We need points and soon. SWP has had a good start to this season, but sadly he now seems more a hard working runner than a creative threat. For my season ticket money I'd rather watch creative flair and not hard working, functional sides. If the sides MH selects start winning, you'll hear no complaint from me.
To be honest, i haven't really been saying it for long. The first two game Vs Swansea/Norwich were abject, and deserved nothing. Since then there have been improvements Vs Walsall + The second half of City, and good performances V Chelsea and Spurs. We've been a bit unlucky that the side has started to gel just as we've played the better sides. Chelsea aren't a bad team by the way are they? We did better against them than Arsenal are doing! I don't think one point from 2.5 games of good football is a time to say "things clearly aren't working". If after 8 games this is still the case then i'll be happy to concede that something has to change. Belfast, i can see your point, but i'd say 99% of the QPR fanbase/opposition fans/media said we were unlucky. We dominated the first half, and the second half was pretty even. Up until Ale's own goal it didn't really look like they'd get back in it, although admittedly they did start the 2nd half slightly faster. Then there was the 90 seconds on madness which sunk us.. Plus the fouls on Onouha/granero leading up to Defoe's. http://www.sabotagetimes.com/football-sport/qpr-why-hughes-should-be-backed-not-sacked/
I can see what you're saying and I don't really disagree with much of your argument tbh. I certainly haven't been calling for Hughes to go. I just remain to be convinced that Hughes can get the best out of a strong looking squad. I'm also a huge fan of flair which makes me want Adel on the pitch, but I of course get all the arguments against his inclusion and I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's been a sulky git of late. I'm sure I'll feel a lot better when we start to pick up points and hopefully that will be Monday, when all I want for my Birthday is 3 points!!
Whilst I'm deeply pissed off about the lack of results - especially the most recent home loss by a full strength team against a newly promoted side equally bereft of results - I'm neither surprised nor bemused. If the management really are bemused then it speaks volumes about our likely fate. Whilst our midfield's been improved no end - which explains some excellent performances in terms of possession, chances created and more than adequate defensive cover, we're still way short in terms of reliable goal scorers and cohesion across the back line. Everyone knew that AJ's good but far from any kind of solution (rarely an effective predator and always a big injury risk). Everyone also spent the summer screaming for solid defenders. I'm sure that Hughes was more than aware of this but failed to secure the necessaries - and consequently he (and the rest of us) pay the price. HUGHES... LISTEN-UP MATE! We fans ain't just talking for the fun of it (or are we?!).
What Grifter said. Think too many on here simply want MH out and will distort the facts whichever way they can to support their opinion. At least wait for the west ham game to stick the knives in. Apart from the first game, the league results haven't exactly gone against the script have they?
What is it with trying to evaluate what MB has said,we are talking Football here. It is not an exact science,if it was nobody would ever lose. Also the majority of players are not the brightest buttons in the box and so to us what might seem a simple instruction to them seems complicated or hard to understand. We are not the only team at the bottom and if you listen to most of the managers, they all talk the same language.Cant understand why we are losing,if we carry on playing as we are, blah blah blah. This side will turn things around but it will take time and imo there will be more comings and goings in January.
