I have been rather impressed with Gerrard's performances this season in a more subdued role, however I'd really like to give him a try as an out and out striker given our current goal-scoring troubles. He's still by far the best finisher in the team, and certainly has the experience and intelligence to find himself in the position to score, this suited him perfectly when he played just behind Torres but I don't believe he has the stamina to play such a role now. Therefore I think he'd be a great player to have up top permanently, here's my idea: ----------Reina---------- ------------------------- AW---MS--------DA---GJ ------------------------- -----------JA------------ ------------------------- -----NS--------Suso/JH-- ------------------------- LS---------SG---------RS I'm sure you can work the initials out without the need for a key, I'd also like to mention that Andre Wisdom has done more than enough to justify his selection in the team ahead of Enrique. Also Johnson has always impressed me at left back. I also think Henderson has done enough to justify being in contention, but I would certainly be happy to see Suso establish himself more in the first team.
Sorry but i want to see Suarez in the middle and Assaidi and Sterling going at them down the wings, and Gerrard as the most advanced mid with Sahin in the middle linking up the play and Allen holding getting the moves started
I just don't think Suarez is a natural finisher, at times he's electric (against Norwich last season) but his finishing is way too inconsistent to rely upon given that neither Sterling nor Assaidi are proven goalscorers like Gerrard is.
Sounds good to me. Think that is exactly how we'll line up this weekend. Allen, Sahin & Gerrard in midfield with Sterling, Saurez & Assaidi upfront.
Personally I think we'll see Suso as the most advanced midfielder, with Gerrard and Allen behind him. Could be wrong.
I think you could be right there, don't know if Sahin's got the fitness yet to play twice in four day's.
I don't understand why Suarez is not being played from the right. I'm not sure of the exact figures, but I think he scored something like 80 in 130 odd games for Ajax, playing from the right, and also had a good scoring record playing on the right of a front 3 for Uruguay.
---------PR--------- GJ--MS------DA---JE ---------JA---------- ----S/JH-----SG----- LS-------FB-------RS with a switch to: ------PR-------- MK-MS-DA-GJ-- ----LL-JA------ LS---S/SG---RS ------FB-------
Funnily enough there is a bit on LFC.com where he says you can't compare because they are different laegues and he went through a spell at Ajax when everything was going in for him, including "rebounds off his shoulders".
I don't care if they go in off his arse or his elbow to be honest. I don't care what league it is either, 80 in 110 is some record.
See guys! Suarez can't play as a central striker, he just doesn't score enough... Egg and my face are in alignment...
