Also, on Cisse, I thought he had his best game so far. Nowhere near last year, but better. His pace is a real threat, plus the fact that he will put the ball in the old onion bag. He's selfish and sulky, but he needs the right service and, with that, he'll always score goals imo.
Great to meet you too, Col Such is the comprehensiveness of your reports, when I wandered down to row G, S block, I was looking out for a man with a clipboard or at least holding up a dictaphone! That you do it all from memory is remarkable. Incidentally, I'd had a work lunch earlier that day, and some grilled prawns that were sprinkled with raw garlic. So apologies if you got blasted with second-hand garlic - I took some stick for it when I had a drink with a couple of friends after the game! From now on, I'm ordering plain salads Your report is excellent as ever. Disappointing result, but for me, the plusses were seeing Hoilett playing at times as we know he can, talented and hungry, Cisse breaking his duck in style and M'bia who looks like a good player with huge personality and could be massive for our defence once he settles -oh, and the fact that Faurlin's injury wasn't serious. Granero is a stylish player and obviously sees himself, with Faurlin, as a creator. However, when he finds himself with space in front of goal, I'd like to see him be selfish occasionally and have a pop. Roll on, West Ham. Vital the defence holds it together. A win, and we can use it as a platform to launch our bid for top half of the table. Lose, and as you said when we met, confidence might start to wane
Sorry Col, but anyone who misses 10 minutes of the game to get the kind of dodgy stuff provided by the Ellerslie road kiosks has really got their priorities all wrong no matter how poor we are on the pitch. Roll on the new stadium.
I know, I know.....extremely deleterious of me! 13 year old's fault. He had a sore throat and needed a drink. Worst thing is......he's given the ****ing thing to me!!
Oh...he's just trying to wind me up. Quite funny actually. Feeling pretty rough mate!! A win Monday would change all that though!!
Good report again!!!! Did you kiss Goldie? My boys claimed that the Ref was very very poor and are still very cross All thought Mbia will become a cult hero in time . Also my youngest who can play a bit himself thinks Diakite could do a job at right back ?
I'm sure Mrs Rangercol will be more sympathetic when she sees how serious it is (below).
They just showed the goals on the TV here. 2 really excellent goals from Hoillet and Cisse. I hope Hughes gives these 2 and Zamora some decent playing time Monday so they can build on this. Come on URRR's!
Great report. A few minor comments: I thought Hill was better than a 6: some great headers, tackles and blocks. Back to his form of last season and a candidate for MOTM imo. Onuoha was marking Gorkks for all the corners after Reading's first goal so I assume it was Onuoha who left him free to score. I was texting my son to tell him how good Mbia looked but then he was the main culprit (but not alone) for Reading's winning goal and gave away that penalty rather clumsily. Cisse's speed did look a threat but he did have some hopeless long range shots and failed to track back. Great goal but not yet back to last season's level. Hoilett had his best game that I have witnessed live.
