I'm very suprised to see PENITENT is priced at 20/1, maybe punters are being put off by his last 3 runs? He wasn't disgraced in those races but was clearly not of the same calibre as the horses in those races with horses like Duntle, Golden Lilac, Librano finishing ahead of him, might have been closer lto if he hadn't found trouble, this seems a much weaker affair.

    Morning, all.

I see everyone's ignored Stick (no change there, then). The reason for the early start at Stratford is that it's one of the trial series of six Friday midday 'matinee' meetings which, along with four Tuesday 'twilight' meetings have been allocated by the BHA. As I understand it, these ten extra autumn fixtures are partly to offset the loss of meetings to weather earlier in the year (more than 80 overall, apparently), and partly to experiment with betting and attendance patterns at the new times - there seems to be a theory that in the early autumn, the lunch period
is busier in betting shops than mid-afternoon. I think you can assume that it's being done more to please the big bookmakers than in any spirit of demographic or sociological enquiry, but I suppose it must benefit smaller courses to a degree.

There's a BHA newsletter about all this somewhere on the net, dating from about the first week in September.

Not taking any chances after that Listed race at Yarmouth last week and have had a very small e/w on Clive Brittain's runner SINAADI in the first!

    Hello lads.

Nothing for me as yet...switching between Sky Sports,C4 and beer fridge.

Unlucky those on Thistle Bird...I backed her last time out but I think she needs to be more handy as 8F appears her minimum trip currently.

Thankfully deserted her today.James Doyle is always a huge minus for me as well.Nice ride from TQ,gets a lot of stick but I think he is getting better as he ages...like me!

GL all and come on Europe...we can't putt though and will lose it on the greens.

Nice one Jeff...hope you covered a few expenses with that one.

Incredible that a shower or two gets into and totally changes the ground so quickly....I think we all know how and why....

    Good shout Stick.

I thought that was a really lovely performance...Harvey and Fitzgerald in the ATR studio unimpressed...normally a sign a horse is decent when they are underwhelmed

As they just said on c4, it was a frankel-esque performance in the way she just ate up the ground on the inside and went from last to first in a matter of strides. Obviously not to the same level as frankel but that was extremely impressive

She is a cracking 2-y-o filly....

...such a shame who is in charge of her future plans..hopefully she doesn't end up like Discourse and Lyric Of Light.

I think some things need more investigation that the GN when it comes to the welfare of thoroughbreds.
