It will be interesting to see the effects of the super simulator mercedes have for next season. The lack development this season leads me to believe they started working on the 2013 car early. Lewis said he wants to win and maybe they have a great car for next year. EJ is now the guru of F1 news, how does he do it? Reading Michaels satement makes me feel a bit sad for him, spoken like a true champion though.
NOOOOOOO why?? I can't help feeling this is one of the worst decisions Hamiltons ever made!!!! And although Perez has proved good in some races, I'm not sure he is up to fighitng at the front yet. And Button is simply not on Hamiltons level. My favourite team and driver will all lose out because of this I think.
I bet Mclaren would have struggled to match that, or it would have been more results based. I wonder whether Mclaren will let Jenson support Lewis now?
Sorry, but Lewis will not win the WDC now. McLaren will send him a fitting goodbye present by giving him another "problem".
They'll only need Lewis to keep going until it's no longer needed etc... Lewis better hope Jenson's form stays like it until the end to keep the WCC fight alive or really they have nothing to really lose.
I doubt McLaren would be vindictive like that and anyway it's in their interests that Lewis does as well as he can.
I imagine McLaren will back Hamiltons unlikely WDC push as it will be a McLaren title at the end of the day. I'm a McLaren fan and a Hamilton fan but I'm happy that they are separating. Perez has a real chance to prove himself in a team that has speed whilst Hamilton has the chance to build a team around himself with a team mate he genuinely likes.
I think Hamilton will and should be sidelined to a degree, in terms of involvement in new 2013-compliant developments. There'll be no (deliberate) sporting handicaps applied but they won't want to give him data he can take to Mercedes if they can help it.
