  2. So you think Pardew is going to settle with the midfield we have now? He knows if we want to push up then we need more quality in midfield.

I personally hope we sign a better option in Jonas' place.

Would take that dream with HBA on the left and Nolan/Ireland in the centre.

In time we should be looking to replace both Nolan and Jonas.

I love Nolan, his leadership and goals have been of paramount importance to us but apart from that he offers very little both defensively and going forward.

Jonas is a hard worker, never stops running and can take anyone on but his end product just isnt showing signs of improvement, if his crossing was good he would be easily one of the best wingers in the league.

nar, would leave it as it is, need to try and make the centre creative, how many goals have we scored this season passing it through with nolan? How many assists has Nolan got? We have to play HBA there realisticly and Jonas is better than Ireland imo...

Agree with all of this really.
If Jonas could cross he'd be awesome, and Nolan is key for his leadership and goals.

With Nolan in reserve, Gosling as Barton's replacement, and possibly Ireland/Guthrie on the bench.

It's awkward really. Dropping Nolan and Jonas would just feel far too weird, but we can't deny that if we want to improve, they would have to be replaced eventually by better options.

It would be great to have this sort of depth though. After all, it's what the top teams do. When games are so regular, the squad can be rotated without any drastic difference in quality or performance. It would be awesome if we could have our usual starting 11 and add in Nolan, Jonas or other squad players every other game or two to keep everyone consistently fresh.

We would never have all 7 options fit and available though realistically, there's always a couple of injuries and a suspension or two, the team will not be as difficult to pick in reality as it is on paper. Also there will be form to take into account as well.

disappointed no one has mentioned Krancjar

    - - - - - - - - - - TIOTE - - - - - - - - -
    BARTON - - - - IRELAND - - - - KRANCJAR
    - - - - - - - - -BEN ARFA - - - - - - -

well that's mine, with a dangerous striker up top, possibly gervinho, I personally like Lisandro Lopez, no one has mentioned him before. I do read all the time, just rarely post. Perhaps a little unrealistic.

Subs for midfield would be - gutierrez, guthrie, gosling, Nolan, Vuckic (loan out Lua Lua)

Striker we'd have Best, Shola, KUQI !!! maybe a new addition (free transfer)

actually shola can leave, but we'd keep ranger instead of loaning out (didn't mention that b4)
