Evening all. Well, that's Yom Kippur over for another year. Apparently fasting for 25 hours is good for you...doesn't feel too good to me tbh lol.
Congrats H. I dont know how you guys manage. I cant go 25mins without eating, nevermind 25 hours. #couldn'tbeaJew.
it does get easier every year, but this year it seemed a bit harder, not sure why. Next year it's the earliest it's been since 1899...14 September..so it's going to finish really late...it'll be a killer! lol
Ohh, good luck with that. I had better sleep now. It was a busy night at training. There is so much to learn for my black belt. My head is spinning. Night all.
Perhaps you should view in the same light as a speed limit? The maximum allowable fasting is 25 hours, however when conditions prevail..........
Morning all, If the meteo are correct then we could have a light shower this morning followed by several days of warm sunshine. Hope your discomfort is lessened today BB. My nurse is complaining about the cheap Chinese needles she is given to stick in people. The one she used on me today felt like a clout nail. Still only eleven more to go if I continue to progress. I have now been invited to go and have, at the expense of the state no less, a flu jab. Last winter the vaccine used did not work as there was a new strain of flu about, so I think I might give it a miss. A cup of coffee now, then a scan of the news. Yesterday's piece on driving seemed to go down well, unless you are a young driver.
Góðan daginn öll. Cappuccino, coffee, tea donuts and fruit are on the bar. Which says it all...the fault lies with those driving behind them. You are the one who appears not be able to cope with something perfectly acceptable. Why shouldn't people go at 40/50 mph if they choose to? Now if you were complaining about young drivers doing 80/90 or driving ten feet behind more experienced drivers I might think you had learned something.
As one who quite frequently gets lights flashed at me by oncoming drivers to warn that the gendarmes are down the road with their speed guns, I wondered if they are committing an offence. I discovered this about how the law stands in the UK, but still don't know if something similar applies here. "Can you be fined for flashing oncoming cars to warn them of a speed trap? I seem to recall you mentioning that the police have to prove the drivers they flashed were actually breaking the speed limit (or about to break it)." "Correct. If they issue a fixed penalty and the driver accepts it, then that's effectively pleading guilty whether or not an offence has been committed. If it went to a proper court, case law (Glendinning) has held it not to be an offence unless the police can prove that the drivers flashed were actually speeding".
That pisses me off too, when I am doing 70 in a 70 and overtaking vehicles at a consistent rate but the twat insists on being in my boot. But as I said before, I can cope with the person doing 40/50 but 20 was extreme. I would rather everyone drove at a consistent speed at a safe distance.
ha! that would be much better...i should suggest it to the rabbi! lol the trouble is, Theo, when someone is doing well below the speed limit, not for a safety reason, but because they feel like driving slowly, they then become a hazard. For example, doing 40 in a 60 could fail you your driving test, if the examiner feels 60 would have been a safe speed to be travelling at, whereas 50 in the same 60 wouldn't fail you, because it's slightly below the limit, but not slow enough to become a hazard. So, it's a judgement call. Afternoon all, thanks for the caramel latte Ak. Weird day today, i keep getting cancelled, so taking advantage this afternoon and doing a fair bit of baking, for a Macmillan 'worlds largest coffee morning' tomorrow.
If I remember correctly, someone posted on these boards that Jack Bonham is a long-term absentee which means that we only have Almunia and Bond as available keepers. If either of them had a long-term injury, then we'd definitely have to get a keeper in on loan but I have some ideas what we could do instead if it's a minor knock or suspension. I do realise that all of these are ridiculous and/or risky, but they are: go without a keeper on the bench, call up the Academy's first-choice keeper or have Alec Chamberlain as back-up. With the last 2, the person concerned wouldn't moan about being a sub, but special registrations may be required (I doubt the Academy keeper has signed a pro contract yet, and Alec is officialy retired, but I don't think there's an issue with compensation payments as there was with Tony Roberts when Dag & Red got promoted to the League as he had "retired" due to injury whereas AC retired of his own free will).
Bonham will be back in 3-4 weeks. He had a "high ankle sprain" but the boot is off now and he is able to walk without crutches.
I'm (almost) sure that there used to be a driving test failure over "not making due progress according to the prevailing road conditions" which included going too slowly or too cautiously.
Afternoon all. Its good weather here today, although I would not know as I am inside all day again lol. At least it means the washing will dry.
Random question guys, but does anyone know where I can find the video the club released at the end of the 08-09 season (i think). Its the one that starts with "time to say goodbye" and then goes to "ashes". I used to have a copy, but seem to have lost it.
Is this it marra? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WATFORD-F...Ds_GL&hash=item27cb49db2f&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_136
Unfortunately I dont think it is mate. I might have the date wrong. It might be the year we were beaten by hull in the playoff semi's.
