Dont want to get carried away with this, he might be top scorer in france, but this is the only real season hes been on fire. i think 15 million could possibly be a huge gamble as he could turn out to be a 1 season wonder.

No more of a gamble than Sturridge really though, and people are saying we should be bidding 10-15mil for him.

Realisticly it is a bigger gamble as one had a season in the premier league and the other in ligue 1...

Sturridge is only 21 and you can see his potential, thought i also think 15 million would be too much for him at the moment too.

Wasn't Stephane Guivarch a good player in France? We've had our fingers burned off the sheep burning twats before.

We all need to realise that like it or not, Nolan will be starting every game next year when fit so there's no point having formation porn without him...

Over spending on **** players was our downfall in the past, we ended up with a team of mercs who didnt care for the club and drove us relegation and possible administration. now we have a nice amount of money to spend we need to be wise and avoid going back down the same road.

This Sow/Sturridge debate is all academic, since we're signing Berbatov in the summer <whistle>

The foramtion porn itself is useless, as we will almost never have a fully fit squad and even if we did then there are about 7 mindfielders we could play who would be split depending on form.

Never gunna happen, as NT says, Nolan will not get dropped! He is club captain and one of the manager's favourites! At the end of the day, this isn't FIFA of FM11 and Cashley isn't gunna buy players in positions he will feel we are strong enough already!

IF we get Sow I'll be over the moon...I personally think this will realistically be our formation next season:

    -------------Sow
    ----------Ben Arfa
    Jonas-----------------Barton*
    ------Nolan**---Tiote

    * Larrson
    ** Ireland.

  14. Ireland's better than Jonas mate

^ He's not a winger though, and was **** at Villa.

Ireland is also a CM not a Winger

  17. Ireland can play wide, just like Barton can. He's got pace, excellent passing ability and good deliveries on him. He's CM by default but can be like Barton.

And Smudger, Villa were **** altogether, you can't blame him for losing form at that ****hole. Being sold as part of a deal for a better player to take his place, joining a club that was in ruins and declining with poor morale in the dressing room.

He still hasnt really played on the wing, and whatever excuse, a good player would still have stood out in such a bad Villa side, and he didnt. I hope he comes good for us but has been in shocking form for the last year.

He can, but you wouldn't want 2 like that, want one of them to be an out and out winger.

  20. That's a poor way of looking at it mate.

Being happy at your club can effect your performances, and Ireland was obviously not happy at Villa. Morale is as important as a players techincal ability.
