It's difficult to compare, because my understanding is that the 20 mil a year is a potential earnings based on performance. I am pretty sure that JB had a pay rise from his first contract which was worth about 6 million a year as a base plus the obvious performance bonuses, making his current contract somewhere in the region of 8-10 million a year plus the usual bonuses. It can't be anymore than that because it would take him to higher pay scale than Lewis will be offered as a base salary prior to performance related pay. Some people oare confused with Lewis's current salary and assume it to be 15 million a year (5 x 15 = 75) but it was weighted towards the final 2 years of his contract, so he is likely on somewhere in the region of 20 million a year now which is why he negotiating heavily. I would imagine Lewis is being offered a base salary of between 10-15 million (again probably weighted toward the end of his contract) with performance related pay giving a potential of 20 million a year. As I said in the the thread question, I can't see him getting a better drive than Mclaren taking into account pay and car performance.
Autosport are currently claiming that the offered basic salary is £11.5m McLaren ready to match Mercedes' offer to Lewis Hamilton This suggests that their earlier offer was less, probably what Button is on (I assume).
That would make sense. I understand a lot of the Lewis fans are disgusted that Button would be paid a similar package, but Lewis has made a rod for his own back. Once Ferrari and Red Bull were out of the equation he was not really left with a competitive drive which has limited his negotiating ability - this coupled with his results over he past 2 seasons compared to his teammate! If he was managed by by his father he would have signed a lot earlier on a better package IMO! As a JB fan I don't dispute that Lewis s faster and more likely to win the WDC and hence is worth more, but Lewis and his team have backed the self into a corner. All I can say is it is a good job his form is as good as it is at the moment!
Ross Brawn been intererviewed and didnt confirm that Schuey is staying and when asked about Lewis he said they are always interested in the best drivers! Just in case no one had noticed, its Thursday! http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/102877 Brawn said that it was possible a decision about who lines up alongside Nico Rosberg may not be made for some time, as he all but confirmed for the first time that the outfit was interested in Hamilton. "I think any ambitious team looks at the top drivers and we're an ambitious team, but I think there's an awful lot of speculation," he said. "We will have some things to say in the next few weeks, next few months, and then all will become clear." Hope this doesn't affect his mindset/form: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...herzinger-and-Chris-Brown-caught-kissing.html
Ah, the old get together with Chris brown to revive my dead one hit wonder career move, LH can do better than that skank anyway, personally I don't find her that attractive anyway, I can see better walking down Croydon high street.
Croydon is a hot-bed of sexy girls, just as long as you like orange and hair that comes off in your hands
I agree with you on Scherzminger, but this is going to unsettle Hamilton. Either he won't care about this but will be constantly bombarded by the media about it, or he will care and... well, obvious will result. As long as it doesn't affect him like last year though should be fine. She is an idiot though. I do hope that Fuller doesn't think Lewis dating her gives him "star appeal" or something similar.
I'm not Lewis's biggest fan but I feel for him on this! She's a dick and ever since he's been with her it seems that his guest at race weekends are her social group more than his!
Not wanting to weigh in to all this stuff as I have no interest in what's going on in Hamilton's love life, but that pick could quite easily be angled to look like a snog if the pair were leaning in to talk in a noisy place. It's also a story in the scum. Did only look at it on mobile though. The English press are idiots though... just go fishing for things to derail our sports stars, then go print further reams of bollocks when they fail to perform. Lazy, easy journalism.
Question is, would Ross Brawn of all people, want to be involved in trivial crap produced by LH's personal issues?
