Suso

Discussion in 'Liverpool' started by luvgonzo, Sep 25, 2012.

  1. It is good to have different options. I can't see Suso drilling a shot in with power from thirty yards like Gerrard, Sahin or Shelvey. Nor can I see Suso or Sahin driving into the box in the same way as Gerrard or Shelvey - with pace and power.

Hmm have to disagree, did Suso not just do that last night? ( driving towards the box).

In terms of a 30 yard bomb, when was the last time Gerrard was even on target from outside of the box? I miss that part of his game and it was so deadly as well. I don't that is in Suso's bag yet but it could be.

Lucas is our best player full stop.

If Sahin stays beyond his loan, this could be fantastic in the future:
    --------Back-------Four-------
    -------------Lucas--------------
    -----Allen-----------Sahin-----
    --------------Suso--------------
    -Suarez--------------Sterling-

This could be a good ALTERNATIVE to a 433 with a dominant center forward.

I would use it against a low in the leak, open defense team necessarily. But again tight, strong midfield, tight defense, it could open the opposition well.

  4. I meant driving thorugh the middle with power and pace, with or without the ball. Suso is a dancing type player, he will never be a power player <ok>

Exactly - Gerrard's long range shooting has been poor for a long time and we've not seen those lung busting runs as well.

The Suso/Sahin style is the way forward if this system to be successful IMO.

I think he showed that he can have that drive, not for long lung bursting runs ( which I think you are getting at) but can def push through the middle before creating a bit. Still wondering if we might see that Teixeira boy at some point.

Does anyone know if there's some sort of deal between LFC and Real Madrid that gives us the option to buy Sahin at the end of the season?

    I'm hoping there is <ok>

I think we may have first refusal on him - but that only means we get the first option IF Real wish to sell.

That's true. I'm hoping that he continues to impress throughout the season and Real are willing to sell to us if the price is right.

He's earnt his place in the team, as well has Assaidi.

One of our greatest problems over recent years.....Is that teams know we are not getting goals from midfield therefore they can sit deep and we have problems breaking them down.....Players like Suso and Sahin shape to shoot and suddenly defenders are coming out to block, which in turn creates space for balls to be slid in behind them.

Having goal threats in midfield is going to help us break down teams and score more goals.

Really enjoyed last nights game......and great to see the young options we have.

  11. Sahin did reportedly say he'd like to try and make it a permanent move next summer if things go well <ok>

    Glad you changed your sig!

But now it has red devils? <grr>

Sahin should stay, because he is quality and the link he is already showing between the mid and attack is tremendous. I think it depends on what Real see happening with Alonso and if they have room for him over there next summer.

Well I knew you were jealous of my Pokemon so I changed it <ok>

Red devils - I'm on it, will change it ASAP <ok>

Agree with Sahin, he's showing his class already. Let's hope he can produce that every time he plays.

    Yank bastard <ok>

I think he'll start to get eased in now, especially after his display last night.

I think first time I have seen a midfielder that advanced for us, it was a joy to see!
