    Well not really. We have had a few but have gone out to poor or average teams many times too. We just usually dont perform in this competition. At least it gives the kids and fringe players a decent game or two and decent competition for players returning from injury. Hopefully has worked in our favour with Cisse too. I would have started with him and if we had we may have gone through.

    If we do **** in the cups, I don't really mind this season, as long as a lesser club doesn't take a European spot.

    I'd be happy finishing 7th even, as long as it meant Europe next year.

    I'd prefer to finish 5th though.

    We've had threads debating this before, but what about lower than 7th but with a cup win? (which will also mean qualifying for europe next season - we could finish 7th and not get in).

    That would be great, but I think finishing in a higher PL spot, and qualifying that way, would be easier than being lower and battling in the cup mate.

    Why does Pardew keep playing reserves?, what does he expect to win this season ?, I hope Wenger , Fergusson and Matteo keep playing theirs, and SAFC can win it!. Bring on the Boro AND our first team!.
