Cant wait to watch the highlights on bbc1 later tonight. Hope they show a decent amount of the match and not just the goals and a few chances. Sounds like we passed the ball and closed them down well - something we should come to expect with Rodgers play. I think sometimes it is easier for the younger players to adapt - everyone says it's easier to pick things up when you are young, especially when trying to impress and make a name for yourself. Sometimes I think the older players (Downing, Gerrard, Carragher) have played a certain way for all their careers and got to where they are with it that they find it hard to adapt to something different. That might be why we are seeing the younger players "playing the Rodgers way" a lot easier than the older, more established guys. No doubt over time it'll come but may just take a little bit longer.
Brendan would surely love to knock out his former club in the next round. We could have a pattern here with ''Oldies''. Steve Clarke is an ex Liverpool assistant manager, and was Brendan Rodgers boss at Liverpools possible 5th round opponents...Chelsea. In between Liverpool are playing Brendans former club Swansea.
Downing £20M, Sterling £1m, Assaidi £4m. Downing a ****ing joke of a player. Great performance from the lads. Better than the first team. Hope to see Sahin and Assaidi start vs Norwich in place of Shelvey and Borini.
As good a performance from aliverpool team as I have seen for a while. Great passing and ball retention. And we looked a threat going forward. It wasn't as if Albion put out a really weakened team. Thought after first few mins we may struggle to contain their forwards who looked really powerful but our defence stood up well even if carra is like an old creaking gate . These are my ratings...tell me if you agree/disagree Jones 7...recovered well after early howler Wisdom...7 excellent first half but faded a little later on. Good passer though Coates...8 stood up well and used the ball well too Carra...6 beginning to look a little out of his depth with this type of football but red through and through Robinson..7 always impresses me think he is a fine prospect Downing...4. Ugh,,! Can't bring myself to comment. Pacheco..8 played really well unlucky not to score when he hit bar. Best performance from him sofar Sahin...9.5. Absolute quality 2 goals great passing and broke up play well. Assaidi..8 ..showed downing how to be a winger, paced direct and great ball for winner. Yesil..7... Showed great spirit but looked a bit lightweight against some big experienced defenders. Never gave up though. Suso.. 8. Not on for long but played a part in goal and oozes quality. Sinclair..6 not much of a look in but would like to see him given another chance. So some relief for BR and some vindication to his methods. Slowly you can see it happening just need to do it in prem.
Sterling cost £600k rising to £3 million, but he has to win trophies and senior England caps in order for the £2.4 million to be paid to QPR.
After his two cameos, and he looked like a 25 year old, I shouldn't think why not. He's strong for someone so slight, he's got quick feet. If he can cut out the sulking, he's going to be a full Spain international by the time he's 21. He could even be heir to the Xavi throne.
Kph103: Fairly decent scoring. I'd give Pacheco less, Assaidi more. That's it, really. Similar to how I would have scored it. Except...You gave Downing a '4'. The scoring system doesn't have the correct scale for Downing. It's Celsius when he should be Fahrenheit. I'd be tempted to start using minus figures for Downing's scores.
You are probably right regards downing ..but I gave him 6 for turning out and then went down from there. Probably 4 was a bit generous. Yes Assaidi probably deserved a 9 he looked a threat every time he ran at their full back and can cross a ball..glory be! However, I stand by my score for Pacheco ,just thought him and sahin dominated the midfield and he got forward well.
Have to wonder how Carroll would have done with sterling and Assaidi crossing the ball. Would have been a good plan b. I have agreed with most of what BR has done but still feel letting him go is a fairly big error.
Great performance tonight from the kids.... we have some seriously good young players. The future looks extremely promising . Also BR should get a lot of credit for putting so much faith in the kids. Thoroughly enjoyed the match tonight

Cheers, SJD! Right back attcha, fella. I was the first to predict opposite 'Poorly' -- 'He' voted for a WBA win, funnily enough he's not on here now! -- do I get extra points?
Cheers for that mate forgot about the highlights on the beeb good thing that restart this program option
Just got home from work and seen the brief highlights on BBC1. Anyone watch the whole game? We looked good after a dodgy opening few minutes, but can't really tell from the highlights if we dominated the game. How did Yesil look? Assaidi looked good, as did Sahin. Reasons to be optimistic? Sorry it's a lot of questions, but I hate missing a game!
Giving Brad a little more sympathy after seeing this angle for the build up to their goal. http://propaganda.photoshelter.com/gallery-image/120926-WBA-v-Liverpool/G0000oXdalfZg.3w/I0000RBYjiU9GqDk/C0000MnVL_wDI1HI@JimBoardman
