There have been numerous times this season I have thought "What are you doing Brendan?" Yet most of the times you have proved me wrong. You played Sterling against Citeh, bought Suso on against Man Ure and have played Shelvey rather than loan him out. (The striker debacle I'm willing to lay at someone else's door). WE all know where these things have led us and will continue to take us.
We all have said " give youth a chance", but I have bottled it when it happened and thought " good god, they've no experience!". However, BR's faith has paid off each time. So I would like to apologise Brendan. Please continue and I hope you get time to implement your style.

He's doing ok, lets hope we can get on a winning streak in the league and then everyone will be happier.

BR did well. That substitution was almost Rafa-esque in it tactical impact. I'm probably over egging it, but was impressed with but our young team / squad and Brendan's approach. He's proved quite a few people wrong today. Long may it continue. :)

Nice one, Mikey. Takes balls to come out and say you were wrong / hasty. I've got to be honest I didn't notice you being that negative about the kids or BR in threads. *cough* MITO *cough* ;) <ok>

    Youth can become his trademark.

We need to get the League up and running now though.

Yeah the likes of Assaidi, Sahin, Sterling and Suso should now be mixing it with the likes of Allen and Gerrard in midfield. Wildom and Coates need a run too.

A balance between young and new will be good. The above guy are capable of scoring which the older guy struggle at.

I'd happily not see Downing again tbh.

Agreed. Keep Downing as a substitute / Cup player only. Assaidi was far better and should be paired with Sterling (also far better), on the other side.

Suso and Sahin, Allen and Gerrard, Shelvey (when back) and Henderson as well as Lucas (when back) can all be rotated in midfield to suit the occasion. What numpty said we have a weak midfield? <doh>

True. The young guys give us options and they can score. To be fair it has been, and still is, our strikeforce which is the main problem. Oh and the sloppy mistakes at the back.

Yip; balance it so not to over expose any one youngster but not baby & frustrate them either after tasting it.

I'm waiting for highlights because I didn't get to see it but Downing sounds like he was anonymous again. Shame, but last year with us I hope.

Yes a clean sheet would have made it a perfect performance. However I was pleased that jones recovered after his cock up and had the courage to come for more crosses.
One point though that does concern me is the number of back passes we make that are heading towards the goal. It's heart in the mouth time every time they do it. Can't they work out to pass to the side of the goal.just see a calamity waiting to happen ..and if its gonna happen to anyone it will be us.

Yeah that is true. If it could go wrong it probably will at some point.

I heard the game on the radio. Wish I could have watched it.

Watched it on a stream and we totally outplayed a fairly strong west brom team who looked well up for it esp after an early gift of a goal.. Particularly pleasing after what happened in the league and a performance that was light years away from that game.

Yeah, usual Downing, Frank. He won the ball for us, once or twice, but was wasteful in possession. He'd either stop mid-bomb down the wing and then turn and pass back, or he'd swing a bad cross in. Even Sahin swang in neater crosses from a more central position than Downing did from the right wing -- his wrong foot, admittedly, but then he is a professional and should be decent with both. Assaidi did better on the left tonight than Downing has been on either wing for us ... ever! (FA cup the one possible exception).

Having seen the highlights(little highlights that is)The WB goal what a howler by Jones got the ball but dropped it 1-0 down after 3min
Sahin's 1st goal really good strike but with some it luck went under the keeper.Whereas Sahin's second goal that is what we all want to see LFC do week in week out. Great tactical decision by BR to bring Suso on and with nearly his first touch he goes towards goal perfect little touch to Asaidi who then crosses the ball for Sahin to tap in great goal

Our senior players should take a leaf out of the youngsters and take note how to play and score

    BACK ON TOPIC
BR said in his opening interview give me time and you will see the changes.Besides the 1st game of the season and the Arsenal game we have played to BR's style and i'm liking it so he is defo getting my support + i would like to point out the applause and the singing of our supporters at the game tonight shows that he is getting support from the crowd to+most people on this forum to<ok><ok>
