Excellent. We badly needed that - at least in this troubled period a few youngsters have stood up and looked the real deal.

well i'm delighted with that... I'll stil lsay west brom really didn't put the effort in to put us under pressure but there was good performances put in by a lot of guys... robinson looked fitter than i've seen in ages, wisdom looked good, coates looked good, henderson and sahin were under no pressure but moved and passed well. Pacheco came good in the second half, and assaidi showed good running.

All in all i thought we'd get mullered if we took this kind of risk with the cup but west brom didn't play well and we did... the yuong lads did well and deserved thier result... i hope they show more of what rodgers is trying to do than the seniors as the pressing they did do was good.

    PHEW!!!!!

relief and delight of the kids we've watched for 3/4 years developing and biding their time.

Surely you mean Assaidi!!! Yesil was not very influential IMO and he just looked to be struggling physically.

That was a brilliant dominant performance though away from home against a strong West Brom team with a lot of their first choice in the team. The future is bright.

A huge well done to BR also, takes some balls to put a team like that out. Showing fantastic faith in the young guys.
And boy did they step up to the plate. Gives him a great selection headache for the weekend.

    Well well well!

Suso oozes that class that we need and Sahin showing how important he is going to be in our midfield. Assaidi better be playing this weekend as well!

And you can't win anything with kids.....

Good to see Sinclair looking to get going, trying to be in line with the last defender, just waiting to get onto any balls that come over. He had every intention of scoring if he got the chance.

Coates is getting better and better. We can say a couple of players didn't really step up, but I can't shout at anyone for being rubbish, which is a vast improvement all-round.

The fans singing Rodgers name, he'll be relieved to hear that after this start we've had. And it is deserved too! For far too long we have had young talent fade away, after never having been given a chance.

    Team for Norwich?

    All of these guys ;)

    Or

    -------------------Reina--------------------
    -Johnson-Skrtel------Coates-Enrique-
    -----------Gerrard----Allen----------------
    --------------------Suso---------------------
    ----Sterling-------------------Assaidi------
    -------------------Suarez---------------------

Subs: Jones, Carragher, Robinson, Henderson, Sahin, Downing, Yesil.

Should Sahin start ahead of Allen after his 2 goals today?

I Wasn't sure who to vote for for the goal scorer for today. I was torn between Assaidi and Sahin -- I thought those most likely to score. I was fairly close, they were joint men-of-the match (although, technically, Sahin probably edged it for his two goals). Assaidi could have shot after being fed in beautifully by Suso -- great, timely sub BTW, BR! -- but he did the right thing and squared it perfectly for Sahin to flick into the net. So I can't really complain, ;) <ok>

Great team peformance tonight. Apart from Downing, who I've all but given up on now! <doh>
